Buffalo hump is a common term. A lipoma is group of fat cells that actually can be removed like dr lee does. This isn't a lipoma. Overweight people get those humps all the time, it can decrease a little when you lose weight but it typically stays. I know because I've had one for many years, different sizes depending on how big I am.

So pleased it got sorted out in such a brilliant manner. Recovery will be much faster without a large incision. Well done Dr. Emma for knowing what it was and how best to have it removed. ❤

Dr. Emma didn't do the removal, but Dr. Young did a liposuction. All physicians, even the "Dermatologist" specialize in different aspects of surgical procedures. Just because Dr. Emma didn't remove this bump, doesn't make her less of a specialist.

It is a symptom of Cushing's, but folks without the illness can also get it.

Liposuction? I always think that!!

I hope this young woman has seen some sort of specialist like an endocrinologist and had some other testing done since this operation. Her poor lips are so pale and look painful. Im thinking she possibly has a hormonal issue like PCOS or maybe Cushing's disease. It could be a number of things that a medical professional needs to run tests and find a diagnosis.

I wonder how much that costs?

Seems the most common area for cysts, I have one there as well, drained it once, but it grew back 😢

This wasn't a cyst though which is why they used liposuction. If you only had the contents of a cyst drained, that still leaves the sac wall behind and it will just continue to fill up until you get the case removed as well.

The human body is interesting. Great the Dr got to liposuction it out

I wonder if she was referred to endocrinology?

Lipomas are fully removed when the sac the fat is in is also removed. Liposuction doesn’t do this correctly. Unfortunately, the lipoma will come back.

That was a very large suitcase to take to the hospital. In the USA Dr. Pimple Popper/Dr. Lee does liposuction in her office under local anesthesia. I hope this young lady doesn't have a recurrence of the hump for a long time.

I believe it was a lipoma too. They didn't even take any biopsies of it to check. If it was fat they had to take out with lipo, then wouldn't it be considered a lipoma? Especially the area it was in. She could have totally cut it all out without lipo. 😂

Well, the DOCTOR, who studied years to recognize it said it was not a lipoma, but a random watcher in the KZread just gave a diagnosis without even touch it, very good.

Dowagers hump is a curvature of the spine. Not a lipoma.

@@2WheelTourist they said it wasn’t a lipoma. A Buffalo hump (fat) can cover a Dowager’s hump (abnormal cervical vertebrae). Sometimes people have congenital disorders of the cervical vertebrae that can lead to fat build up in that area. The body deposits the fat to protect the spine. From what I’ve read online because I have both conditions.
