Dr. Choi Saves A Child From Blindness | Chicago Med
Ойын-сауық
Dr. Choi and April deal with a pregnancy scare while treating a young patient who may be going blind
Season 5 Episode 1 "Never Going Back to Normal"
Following the car accident, Dr. Manning suffers a traumatic head injury and Dr. Halstead blames himself. Trauma surgeon Dr. Crockett Marcel and Dr. Halstead are suspicious of Phillip when he claims he and Natalie are engaged and tries to order Dr. Halstead away from her care and life. Dr. Rhodes believes Dr. Bekker caused his father's death, but the administration seems to suspect Dr. Rhodes. When they learn the insulin overdose contains traceable amounts of chromium, Dr. Bekker takes her own life. Meanwhile, Maggie confronts her cancer diagnosis. Dr. Charles cuts his honeymoon short to treat a patient with potential schizophrenia. Unable to get over what happened, Dr. Rhodes resigns and leaves Chicago after saying goodbye to Goodwin and Dr. Latham---who admits he's accepted Dr. Rhodes as a friend.

I like Dr. Abrams. He's like the only doctor who doesn't actively search for useless fucking drama. The only doctor in the show written like an actual doctor.

He's actually my favorite doctor. He was truly top notch during that surgery where the patient said he loved Dr. Abrams' bedside manner. Also during that pregnant comatose patient, he was matter of fact but really eager to help.

Med student here. They do bloodwork before surgeries anyway 😂 Any pituitary mass will require a pituitary screen so the whole rushing to stop the surgery thing wouldn't happen irl 😂

I feel like what the boy had here is one of the things that would most definitely be checked before rushing to surgery. A local doctor can even diagnose this condition. Thank you for confirming this scene was just for drama.

Can we have more of Dr. Abrams please? He's one of the best doctors in Chicago Med, I enjoy every scene with him. He's not dramatic, he's funny and he's compassionate in his own way.
I also have hypothyroidism! Poor kid but i'm glad he didn't need surgery!
Well done

What they said in the show: “Honey you’re going to be all better” “So I don’t have to take a nap?” What I would of done: “Honey your going to be all better” “Hell yeah baby, don’t gotta take no nap today!”

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at the age of 17 doctors told me I can get cancer if I dont take my medicine and now I hear I can turn blind without even having cancer ! I'm scared 😭
@lfrit0

This boy had hypothyroidism its essentially the reverse of what you have. His thyroid glands are not secreting the proper hormones (in many cases this is from lack of iodine in your diet). As a result to make up for this the thyroid enlarges to try and compensate but the thyroid glands are in the neck area not the brain... so theres no way for them to be pressing on the optic canal. Kinda bummed that they didnt get these facts right

I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that affects my thyroid this year. Let me tell you something, thyroid is all about the right balance in nutrition. Make sure you’re limiting caffeine, sugar and gluten and taking your meds timely and correctly. My situation improved in a few months and my prognosis is also good. My endocrinologist is optimistic. You’ve got this!
1:14, its funny how they both went different ways lmao.

No doctor in real life breaks such a news like that 😅, in a corridor and not even waiting for questions from the parents. By the way, crainiopharyngiomas by pressing on the pituitary gland can cause hypothyroidism and other endocrine issues including failure to thrive. If a CT scan shows a tumour, no way to say there isn’t one 😅
