So, one of the scientists that supported looking into the “lab theory,” has recanted that position because of new data (a thing that scientists do). What he did was look at the geolocation data of all the earliest know cases/early path of the outbreak. He then superimposed the locations of both the virology center & the “wet market.” Whichever location was the source of the outbreak, it would make sense that the earliest cases are centered around that location. Turns out, all the cases were centralized around the market and not the lab.

How did Paul’s reason fail exactly? As for Fauci’s, it is not a reasoned argument to say that paper wasn’t about gain of function because some people with some credentials said it wasn’t. How exactly was it not gain of function? And how is that difference meaningful within the context of the discussion? I swear people are more and more treating science like a dayum religion, and that’s not the science I know and love.

Paul omitted important questions. If NIH funding was directed to Wuhan, how did NIH audit the work done there? What controls did American taxpayers have in place to insure that research was done safely? Or to insure that NIH had visibility on projects done with American dollars? Admittedly, this is the snippet that got played because it’s two dudes fighting, so maybe they talk about it later. It would be negligence to fund work without audits.

Because the research was not label gain of function, it didn’t have the necessary audits and oversight. From a historic perspective. Since 1990s USA, NATO allowed a Nazi-like govt of China to enter into WTO with the delusion that somehow making the communist govt rich will make them become democratic and up hold ideals of morality where they can do research on viruses, make most of the world active ingredients in medicine, PPE, and be the “good guys”

Dr. fauci was only prepared to call him liar and provide no answer? Fauci kept trying to answer a question Sen. Paul wasn’t even asking. Paul said that he wasn't insinuating that the research in question was connected to COVID-19, and that if the NIH funded the research, for gain-of-functionality, that they and Fauci would be responsible for 4 million deaths. No matter which side you believe, that's a direct contradiction and it shows the bias of the committee, which is supposed to be determined whether Fauci lied about funding, not if he created covid.
