Anyone who’s confused why A. Raja is sitting as speaker or why speakers are constantly changing- if a deputy speaker isn’t chosen by the head speaker then the speaker, in this case Om Birla has chosen 9 chairpersons who will be act as deputy speakers. They can be from opposition. Having a speaker from the ruling party is a convention, not a rule. Meaning that’s usually what it is but not necessarily implemented.
