His new album is also amazing he's So talented.

When I hear DPR Ian he makes me feel like I'm in an art gallery in the middle of the night and all of his songs are the artwork and sculptures coming to life and singing to me. Some art pieces are dark, some are seductive, some are chill and some are mischievous. He's so brilliantly artistic and talented! You MUST check out his interviews where he explains his mental illness and what his lyrics and imagery means. It's so freaking deep and mind blowing! He's a genius tbh! His new album is part 2 to this album which is supposed to be a 3 part series into his mind. His new album is so insanely amazing! Especially Ballroom Extravaganza which is my favorite song and I listen to it on a loop daily! Please deep dive into DPR Ian but make sure you watch his interviews to see his mind behind the songs. When you listen to them blind but then find out the explanation and listen to them again you get an entirely different perspective and they sound even more profound, deep and mind blowing than the first time. He even edits the videos and adds graphics himself and a 1 second flash of flames on his body in his new video took him 4 hours to create. He's such an amazingly talented and brilliant person! I love him so much and respect his transparency with his struggles. He's simply genius!

dpr ian is one of my favorites artists of ALL, you need to check out his new album!!

Yesssss 🖤🖤🖤 One thing he doesn’t go into in the documentary is the really fascinating (but sad) side of his songwriting. No silhouette started to be written when he was in a really low place and he couldn’t go back and finish it until the manic cycle came around again and he was back in that dark headspace. He’s so interesting! You’ll have to watch some interviews

Pardon the novel but I think it may be helpful to have the perspective of a Real Live Person with Bipolar Disorder chime in. Here we go: As many others have said, DPR Ian has been open about his Bipolar I diagnosis, which colors much/most of his work. When I first discovered his music (leading with So Beautiful) I was floored. I didn’t know anything about him but I saw myself so intimately in his work which was so visceral and chilling and haunting and nightmarish. I researched him and found out his Bipolar 1 diagnosis, and it all clicked. I felt seen in a way I never have before. Two years ago (finally! In my mid 30s) I was diagnosed with Bipolar II (so less of a “high” and not ever in a fun way) and also rapid cycling like he is. His work is SPOT. ON. for my experience and I understand how it can be so difficult for a lot of people to parse. Being in one’s bipolar mind can be extremely disorienting, yanked from a high to a low at any time. The high manic phases aren’t all fun and games and are often highly destructive. Substance abuse, risk taking behavior, self destructive behavior in relationships, etc have repercussions just like the dark depressive side. As someone in the arts myself, it is exhausting to get your heart and soul out into the world but I also feel “purged” of all of it somehow. I’ve heard Ian/(real name Christian) say that he feels similarly with his own creative endeavors, as you can probably tell! He recently did an amazing interview on the Zach Sang Show that a lot of people have mentioned where he talks at great length about his struggles with mental illness and how it helps and hinders his creative process. He also talks about the extensive concepts he explores in his work and it’s definitely worth a watch. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4SFs9CqmdTFpZM.html I am so grateful that he is able to be so articulate about the way he experiences his life. I’ve never heard someone famous talking about living with Bipolar with such candor and frankness. I hope you can find the time to watch the interview, as he was able to enlighten some people who just know about Bipolar Disorder by what they’ve seen in movies. Ian shows us that it’s possible to be a functional and brilliant member of society and not just a guy screaming on a roof that he’s Jesus or something. So yeah. Thanks for getting to the end of this, and I hope this was a bit enlightening! Thanks so much for reacting to DPR Ian! Yess so glad you got to hear this. There's been a group of DPR fans on Patreon awaiting this day lol. He's such a talented guy. I love the mix of genres in his music. I love when a string section or trumpet solo just comes in. And his MVs are of course amazing. Someone might have mentioned this but he's Korean Australian. It's a shame but I don't think he's known much here (I'm in Aus). He might be off the radar as he lives in Korea now. He was actually the leader of a kpop group that broke up after a few years (which is a good thing as he knew it wasn't the right thing for him and from what he's said the company was awful); they were around at the same time as early bangtan. After kpop he started directing music videos for other artists and his MVs are so good that could just be his career. CL actually briefly appears in So Beautiful, but not No Blueberries. He's also plays her love interest in her MV for 5 STAR. DPR Live and DPR Cream (producer) were at Hobi's listening party too, so I'll hope for a collab one day!

I got interested with DPR because of the Thai actor Build Jakapan Puttha. He's such a fanboy.

DPR IAN is really one of my favorites artists. He's just so talented, the music and the visuals are always so good ! Nerves was one of my favorite tracks when it came out!
