DP/30: Wind River, Elizabeth Olsen

Фильм және анимация

She exploded onto the indie scene with Martha Marcy May Marlene and Silent House in January 2011. Since then, she's made 14 movies, including Godzilla and 3 films, Marvel's Scarlet Witch, the comedy coming out around the same time as Wind River, Ingrid Goes West. Lizzie, as she seems to be known to all, sat down for a chat with David Poland.

I still think Elizabeth Olsen should be bigger than she is. Her performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene is the best work of an actress under 30 this century.

My favorite Lizzie interview. I got to know her more on this and I've been noticing Lizzie touching her rings during interviews and rolling them. At first I thought it was just a habit but whe she talked about her anxieties during this interview she was doing it as sort of a stimming thing to calm her self. I love you, Lizzie. I JUST WANNA GIVE YOU A BIG HUG

The one thing I will always appreciate about thorough actors like Elizabeth Olsen (and Keanu Reeves) are that they fully credit the delivery of their roles to those who guided them on screen or trained them behind the scenes. There's a humility that is rare in the entertainment industry which is fully present here and it's refreshing :)

A lot of people ask how you're able to get all these great interviews. In my humble opinion, and correct me if I'm wrong, I think you do get them because: you have empathy and can really understand what the other person is saying and pay attention to their answers patiently, making the follow up questions flow from the previous one organically; and because you have an inherent talent to know where to go next in the conversation without putting them off with wierd, rude or too personal questions... Keep it up! It is always a pleasure to see your work and to hear these stars talk like "normal" people who enjoy their jobs, as they should.

Word. Also his interviews allow the actors/actresses' to breathe (not get peppered with the same questions over and over again) and safely think aloud about what their own minds are thinking. It's almost like conversational therapy for the performer without any gimmicks.

As a former young blonde law enforcement officer, her portrayal was the most authentic I’ve ever seen. From her interactions and willingness to work with and ask for help from fellow law enforcement and field experts to working with the public when you’re a young outsider while still trying to retain your position of authority along with the empathy you have for these people you’ve sworn to help and protect was so authentic. It was mind-blowing to almost see myself in my early years in law enforcement on the screen in a way I’ve never seen before or since. Her performance was amazing.

The "rule" she described where you are only allowed to shoot and not reload is not true. Like at all. I don't know why she'd even say that unless she was just badly misinformed by whoever taught her. The range makes the rules when it comes to rate of fire and movement. And why would you not be allowed to reload? What an odd statement.

After reading the synopsis for Wind River, this is the type of story which makes one think about the film's characters going into shops and doing normal things afterwards, which is a bad thing. Wind River's story is the same as many other stories, which is what makes this type of reaction a negative bias against the film; a story shouldn't make you think about the characters in the story using shopping malls and reading books afterwards REPLY

Zimba's Doom Corner The gun Jeremy Renner uses is a significantly powerful gun with 45-70 ammo. On top of that, his character reloads his own ammo with what appeared to be 500 grain. I’m a woman who shoots, and has some education in gun specs. But I would suggest you look online for the Wind River gun, and you’ll get a lot of information. The reputation of this gun is why it was used in Jurassic Park. So there is a lot more truth in those scenes than you might think.

She's the worst part of the movie. Acts literally, dymnamics is forced, and role not believable. And God - with SHERIDAN's script, now that's difficult. Her not knowing what being natural is & the irritatingly forced camera movements (except shootout) made the film notably worse. Pity. Story, plot, brilliant dialogues, all superb...
