DP/30: To The Bone, Lily Collins, Marti Noxon

Фильм және анимация

One in three women have had an eating disorder of some kind during their lives, but few of the stories are ever told in public. To The Bone is a semi-autobographical story from writer/director Marti Noxon and her character is played by Lily Collins. They talk to David Poland about the film and a wide range of other stuff.

how can someone who has gone through an eating disorder manage to lose such a drastic amount of weight and not totally relapse? obviously, the actress, Lily, deserves a round of applause. That's some serious psychological strength.

Lily is not only beautiful but also intelligent and love the way she express her ideas, she is eloquent and hope she gets more serious roles in the future.

Okay, I'm feeling like I have to say this. I've seen SO many people criticizing Lily for losing weight for this. I feel like she answered this in a very eloquent way. I've never been there, but I can imagine that it takes such great courage to recover. Knowing that, it really seems unfair to me that people are criticizing her for losing weight for a role. Their criticisms feel like undermining her efforts. We should celebrate her strength instead. I am now a big fan of hers. I was pleased with how the movie turned out.

This film became precious to me for personal reason. Lily has always been one of my actresses. But I like her even more now.

I never speak to this, but I have no idea why there are 3 Thumbs Down on this interview in its first day. Maybe I tweeted something about Trump that brought out my boo birds, but I can' t imagine why anyone would be negative about 2 people being so honest and direct.

As always, fantastic interview David! I can't wait to watch the film. I appreciate that the filmmakers actually suffered from eating disorders so it's not just a glamorized look into a serious topic. I hope Lily got counseling during filming bc it's so easy to relapse into an eating disorder. Zöe Kravitz relapsed after playing an anorexic woman in The Road Within.

Watching the trailer made me look forward to watch the movie. I watched the day it was available and really liked it, for the most part. I have been in many treatment centers and there were a couple of things that surprised me.

Wow. I just love both of these women so much. The first time I saw this trailer, I knew I had to watch the movie. (I thought it was a series at first for some odd reason.) I didn't really know of either of these women up until now but they both seem absolutely wonderful, classy, intelligent, and talented. Their chemistry is great and you can just tell that this movie is going to be (I haven't been able to watch it yet) amazing because it's very personal and important to both of them. The combination of their talent, their personal stories, and their dedication has made this movie what it is and it's going to be as beautiful as they are (inside and out).

26:50 💀🖤🖤🖤 “[sent producer friend the script] and he said he liked it but that it’s such a ‘small topic’ [specifically for movie finance/release/viewer response] so i sent him statistics & you know, one in 3 women / 10 million people in the united states have eating disorders, ...but go ahead and keep making movies about white men who understand jazz” HAHAHAHA
