    Élie Delisle-Lafortune Yeah, I'd say pound-for-pound the best out of the bunch, considering it's completely stop-motion from beginning to end. There's a lot of good ones that aren't completely SM like: Jason and the Argonauts, Alice, Robocop and all the Harryhausen stuff!

    WAS the Best Animated Film... Now Isle of Dogs competes... I think I like the story of Fantastic Mr Fox better... but the animation and overall experience? Isle of Dogs wins

    What an amazing filmmaker. Every movie he makes I'm there opening weekend. I cannot believe this genius has never won an Academy Award. He should have gotten 3 for Grand Budapest Hotel.

    Just an interesting thing: Roald Dahl's son works in my local grocery shop in Florida. He is a very nice dude and it's so cool knowing that someone famous has chosen to retire in the place that I live in (coincidentally obviously, not for me).

    I think Wes has a very distinct visual style and I think that's why some people say all his films are the same. The visual style isn't the film though and while there are some character traits that are present in a lot of his films, he always tells a very different story. Every film has it's own message and it's own characters that might feel like they're from the same world, but don't feel like they're the same character or even close to the same character. That's my take on the criticism of his style.

    hi, does this conversation continue? It feels like Wes Anderson was going somewhere with Ingmar Bergman and Almodovar on how they are regional and how this serves them. Would love to see the rest of this! And if not, get an interview for his next film please! great interview. best one I've seen so far of Wes Anderson.

    Yegor Lymarev how on earth would I know why DP/30 doesn't want to do podcast, but I certainly can get the impression that visuals are not they are focusing on. It's what they talk about that counts. Many of their's are like this, "not quite properly lit", not just this one. Anyway it would still make a lot of sense if there's no visuals in interviews, and that shows it's something secondary.

  • @nicholaswright25
    @nicholaswright2511 жыл бұрын

    can they not zoom in and focus at the same time? You have to zoom in and then focus after over shooting then coming to it??? I love your interviews you get, but please get a new camera operate. Hire me for god sakes.

    I haven't watched films in recent years and so am not familiar with the films of Wes Anderson although find him attractive viewing. I made a short film of foxes in the garden around the same time, which I'll look for some time and send his office. However although I can understand not liking bad reviews I don't think foxes would like the way they are portrayed in the short clip I saw all that much. When I finally guessed that animals were omnisicient in early 2013 after several months of viewing I was then intiially afraid that foxes would be reporting to the media what I was doing because of Fox News. I changed my mind but that they have an interest in the media was demonstrated - or they were having a joke with me - when I came back from holiday one year after having been used to seeing them every day and none appeared until I was watching a video of Larry King. At the time I didn't think Larry King / Fox News, I thought they were showing me that his was the only video that interested them which at least means that although young themselves they respected odler pesonalities. Finally, when one died - or hopefully pretended to have died since the body was still heavy - outside the local school I went out later and carried him or her in a black Max Mara Sport Max coat across the field. I don't begrudge the loss of the coat since I know the fox would have predicted that I would carry it in it and I know that they are moral.

    Having not seen the film apart from the clips on TV when it was out, was it really all smart talking American foxes being cool and like Ocean's 11? I'm probably not expressing it well enough, but I got that impression from the little bits I saw. Still, can't be that much worse than the Charlie and the chocolate factory films. Johnny Depp ruined the Tim Burton one.
