Up until Incendies. After that...

Denis is the best director of his generation. Period. I know you see comments like this all the time, but I find it hard to name a more versatile director working today. Although sci-fi is his bread and butter, Denis has made excellent films from multiple genres. This is a subjective claim, but I genuinely think none of his films are bad; it’s merely a matter of which is better than the other (and even that is difficult to determine). The fact that he made a sequel to Blade Runner - a sequel that I think is monumentally better than the original - is a testament to his skill as a filmmaker

My best friend is recently home having spent 9 months working with him on Dune. A lovely guy by his account and a massive talent by all accounts!

What does your friend do? He is on set or does he do post?

I feel so proud that Denis Villeneuve, Jean-Marc Vallée and Xavier Dolan all come from Quebec! They are making beautiful projects, I can't wait to see the next ones

Hearing Denis Villeneuve admitting to everything he has not felt or experienced on anywhere close to a personal level, and then come out with such masterpieces is just wow. I am an admirer now 👍

I remember coming into the theatre watching Prisoners having never heard of Denis. Now after also watching Polytechnique, Sicario and Enemy he is probably my top 3 favourite directors.

They interviewed Coogler back when Frutivale Station came out.

I literally have not followed a filmmaker as religiously as I follow him. He is a literal GOD!

These are so brilliantly insightful. When he talks about creative control and ego. Phenomenal.

7:56 Even if my English sounds like the one Denis is speaking (we are both from Quebec City), I smiled at that part: You know to know, you know to know the limit, you know to know the where where ;)

He is so incredibly talented. I'm a huge fan of Prisoners and looking very much forward for the Blade Runner film even though I'm not a fan of the first one. To see his version and his understanding of the universe and the characters are gonna be so exciting!

He is very quickly becoming my favorite filmmaker of the decade.

Prisoners, Enemy, and Sicario were all fantastic. I heard his new film 'Arrival' is very good also. It is still pretty far out though.

Corey Pack I just don't like her style of acting.

0:55 "Do you prefer to work all the time or do you prefer to have a little space?" unfortunately he had no rest time for making dune part 1 and 2. he even said it was taking a toll on his mental health

Says he needs time after the next one... Blade Runner 2047 comes out a year after Arrival.

Genius Director! I hope he will keep following his own path instead of directing pictures that 'rich' producers want him to direct, because that seems to be a by product for a lot of great directors nowadays.

He has such an original voice in Hollywood, which is refreshing in a place where you can switch movies up and not know the difference.

Sicario maybe the best action movie of last few years

I love Denis' work! Still haven't seen Sicario, but am dying to. "The next one"; gee I wonder what that is...

+Matt B Drawings ALL TRUE ...but you should blame the SCREENWRITER for all this, not Villeneuve. In fact, it's a tribute to Villeneuve's talent that he's able to turn awful material like SICARIO and PRISONERS (a script that's basically like a bad episode of CRIMINAL MINDS) and turn it into a visually arresting edge-of-your-seat thriller. Can't wait to see him work his magic on a GOOD script for a change (like the upcoming BLADE RUNNER sequel).
