I use to know Michael in the '70s, before he was famous. I helped him pick his acting name. I love watching him be himself. I miss him. I am glad he is making movies again.

Kathleen, that's cool that you knew Michael before he became famous movie star, and that you see him in this interview as his true self. So interesting how he explains his job of acting and how he tries to give the director the desired interpretation of the charactor he is portraying. That is the job of a great actor who can give that Oscar-worthy performance thru the eyes of a great director. Thanks for helping Michael pick out a distinctive name, as there were already 2 famous celebrities named Michael Douglas!

You "helped him" pick out his acting name? Michael repeatedly said he picked the new last name out of a phone book on a whim and figured he'd change it to something even better later, but never got around to it before his career took off. He never said anyone else helped him pick a name. Perhaps you'd like to clarify your claim?
