Thank you, Steve. I lived in the Yukon for almost 20 years and 5 of them were in the Log Skyscraper. I miss it sometimes, and am particularly happy to see here they are making an effort to give downtown some character.

Summer is basically 2-3 months, can get anywhere from a few degrees at night up to low 20s in the day. Maybe q few days a year gets up to 27-29C. Winter is cold, basically 8 months a year. About 5-6 months of the year you looking at Temps like -10C to -40C. You are close to Alaska and the North Pole, its cold.

I live here... there's a ton of homelessness here right now. it's worse than BC and Ontario, there are so many people without homes... I think it's something to do with the immigration laws and businesses hiring out-of-town for tax breaks etc. I've heard a lot of stories from locals that the immigration is hurting the locals because the businesses want the tax breaks.

What homelessness are you talking about? This video shows clean beautiful spacious streets with people walking on well kept empty sidewalks.. Same in any other videos of Wh. that i watched.. Wh. has 5-8 months of extreme cold out of the year and fairly small urban area.. No homeless would survive there. The only cities that have lots of those are warmer cities in BC, and Toronto etc.. Homelessness is a choice, a lifestyle, has zero to do with lack of jobs. A lot of those ppl prefer to be on the streets due to well known issues.

Beautiful place that downtown Whitehorse...where the hell is everybody? I could see if it were -40 degrees and an icy wind a blowin', but c'mon. There's no activity - absolutely none. Maybe a video of the apartment complexes or where young people hang out or high schools or something. Maybe it was a Canadian holiday or a Sunday. I enjoyed your video nonetheless.

Thanks. Having lived here for more than a year, I find the downtown area to be rather empty during the weekends. Many people go camping, hiking, etc. It's Yukon: There's a lot to explore. Also, many residents live in neighbourhoods away from the downtown area; the city is not as compact as Yellowknife, for example.

I've only lived here since July. Anecdotally, it's not a busy city, especially on weekends. I shot this between around 4:30-7 p.m. on a Sunday.
