Chill vibe.Very low key. They love being an understated city. Buffalonians aren't about the flash but they got it all here

For 5 months Buffalo is one of the best cities in the world…but for the other 7 it might be the worst. Very, very unique place.

Just think...a few months ago this area was buried in a blizzard.

Soldiers and Sailors Monument looks 1000% better than it did in the '60's. Used to wait for the bus nearby every school day for 8 years. The mindless cube library replaced an H.H. Richardson style sandstone library. A shame they tore that down. Pluses: No graffiti and no homeless encampments on public spaces. The city must be doing something right.

You’re basically signing your own death warrant if you are homeless in Buffalo. You wont even survive one night from mid November to mid March.

Wow,, I never seen such an abandoned city,, No population downtown , no stores empty buildings... You go to Toronto 2 hour drive and you experience a real vibrant wealthy city ... full of people and cars..

Well, by looking at the low angle of the sun, I'd say it was early in the morning. Also, being very familiar with this area of downtown (I worked just a few blocks away), I would say this was recorded on a weekend. The first portion of the video shows the Theatre District, which of course wouldn't be busy this early even on a weekday. I think the publishers of this video did the city a disservice in recording on a weekend morning; downtown Buffalo is certainly more active and interesting than what is shown here. There's no doubt that Toronto is a bigger, more populous and "vibrant" city. But by that logic, New York City is just a 6 hour drive down the Thruway and is arguably the premier city in North America... But, neither of those cities are Buffalo.

no one on the streets. businesses must be government subsidized to stay open. Dead town. used to be booming in the 80s.
