Downshire Guiding Star Flute Band marching through Banbridge at the start of the night at their own annual parade held in the Co. Down town on Friday 13/09/19.
The band is preceded on the route by members of a new group 'Light Of Foot' which has been set up recently to draw awareness to the prevalence of suicide in Northern Ireland at the present time. The group was set up for the 'marching band' community to get the message across that's 'It's OK to not be Ok'
Light Of Foot was created to help members & supporters of marching bands & loyal orders who may be struggling with mental health. The Admin team are volunteers who want to support others; by providing a listening ear and guiding them to engage with professional services. Guys looking and sounding well. 2020 will be a year of reflection and change and your parade in 2021 will be bigger and better so look after your family and each other as a year out from parading with your comrades is paramount to slowing and halting the spread of the Coronavirus. Enjoy your Friday and Saturdays with your families in 2020 and 2021 will be more meaningful. Keep up your practice and charitable work.
