I plug my guitar straight into Reaper on my computer with an audio interface. On reaper I use a free compressor and a free Twin Reverb amp sim

@@dylanguitar04 thanks mate. Always wanted to play it but could never find the tabs a couple decades ago. Sometimes i take on songs that sound easy, but then as i start to learn them i find they have tricky bits that are hard to get comfy in my hands (esp some less played chord shapes, or fast runs). And so it becomes more hard work than fun. And then visa versa ...sometimes i avoid some songs coz i think they sound intricate, but then when i take them on im surprised how comfy the solo shapes sit in my hands and seem even predictable. But have never played in knopflers style, which assume is a bit jazzy? Im from the blues rock style. So could be lotsa weird stuff (to me) lol
