Me as a european thinking how you americans make something thats so terrible look like it may be good work😂 funfact its not. I have water drains 70+ years old completly working.

I built a French drain for my family in Georgia. It was so satisfying to watch the water flow out; knowing where all the lines are makes it even better 🤌

Я тоже делал дренаж на участке,было два участка между ними канава,которая каждую весну превращалась в речей,а хотелось один ровный и сухой участок,этот метод мне очень помог,вот только масштабы у меня куда больше,глубина канавы метр,почистил стало 1,2-1,4м.ну а потом понеслось,выровнял дно щебнем,застрелил геотекстиль,заложил все коммуникации с колодцами ,как положено,засыпал щебень,,завернул в рукав,сверху ещё щебень потом пгс и земля.все получилось,участок ровный и сухой,а под землёй бежит вода,рекомендую

Хочу дополнить свой комментарий.после этой работы,я приобрел себе ещё участок,там было ещё сложнее (но вышло дешевле), объясню почему- там был колодец, очень старый,с него вытекала вода и заболачивала участок,заделал тоже самое КАНАВА -ГЕОТЕКСТИЛ-ЩЕБЕНЬ-ВРУКАВ-ЩЕБЕНЬ-ЗЕМЛЯ. спросите а где трубы,колодцы и т.д.,в этом и секрет,ничего этого не надо,водичка в этом рукове из щебня прекрасно бежит из колодца через весь участок в ближайший ручей (130 метров). Вот вам и экономия!!!!!

@@arkaim756 когда я это делал то к основному каналу были прокопаны ещё каналы ,со всего участка (сверху смотрелось как ветки дерева)с определенным уклоном,по которым лишняя вода стикает в одно и уходит в ручей,и чем же это не дренаж участка

А если засуха всё лето? В этом году настоящий дождь с грозой только 27 августа выпал. В деревне пруд почти весь высох, так там ключ бьёт. У некоторых колодцы пересохли.

@@teeanahera8949 right-on, on that tape. I've never even thought about using tape because of how it latches together. BUTT I have had times when I'm doing it by myself that those connections pop off, so in the long run tapes good idea if you're doing it by yourself. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

The catch basin was a bad choice. Should have connected the pipe directly to the downspout. That duct tape will only last a year. Should have used real tape.

У моей мамы в деревне бочка стоит,после дождя воду носим в баню,моемся,полы моем, всё поливаем,но если дождя нет,то из водопровода берём .😃

That downspout water will splash all over the place during heavy rainfall. Also, more tape would be a good idea to prevent root intrusion. Also, the outside couplings are way better. Other than that, good work.

Very Good French Drain! I especially like the net to filter out debris!

Gotta love it when the "expert" pops in to slag of someone else's work but offers not a hint of what's wrong with it.

I love these videos that depict soil that you can dig with a shovel. As though such stuff actually exists.

Love filter for downspout.

Love the work. Looks like you take serious pride. Unfortunately you should’ve used PVC pipe as it won’t catch debris and make clogs soon down the road. Gate City Foundation KZread channel put a nice video on the Pros of PVC vs this pipe. The only Con is the price but that’s probably worth it once the job is done for many years to come. Keep it up though!

Еще они живут в деревне. Я бы посмотрел как они в городе раскопки делать будут, разрешение от всех служб, даже с ГИБДД, разрешение на хранение на территории стройматериала, проект,согласование, сроки , сдача в эксплуатацию , лучше их нанимать, иначе все неправильно сам сделаешь , правильно только они могут .

Supposed to cut the small 2x3 end off the flex pipe you have at the very end. It’s a 3x4 downspout and that’s 12 square inches. The other end of the flex pipe is only 6 square inches. It will create a backup in heavy rain. There will be a line and a picture of scissors on most of them that says cut line.

У нас 200 литровая бочка хватало на 1раз полить огород и теплицу. А если нет дождей, воду наливала в бочку из колодца. Выкопали яму 5м длиной, 3 метра шириной и 1м 50 глубиной. Забетонировали и обклеила плиткой. Воду с крыш направили в этот бассейн. Уже 12 лет нет проблем с водой для полива.

You do not empty downspout water into a french drain. Use solid pipe, not perforated pipe to direct water from downspouts away from the house. Do a separate french drain if you need it to catch rising ground water below the pipe and direct it away.

The water from downspouts can cause very expensive damage if you have very flat property. If you have plenty of slope to your yard not necessary

Oh my, all that work for a drain. I purchased large Brut Trash Cans & let spout fill them for watering & using the precious water. I have 1 LG 55 gal plastic barrel open with screen for top to catch precious rain water. I use for bathing & rinsing my hair. Wish more ppl would catch rain water. Some ppl even have a cistern. You could dig a cistern & store your own water.

Should’ve just tied that downspout into the system. They make connectors with clean outs on them.

Thank you so much for putting filter at end of downspout. Have a horror story of leaves clogging area drains causing foul water to flood customer's pool deck during excessive rain. Not our work. Inherited the maintenance job.

This is one of the best simple ways I have seen.As a woman I feel I can do this.

Why? It will infiltrate the perforations and sit in the pipe eventually partially blocking it. That's why he's using filter fabric, to keep the fine sediment out of the gravel and the pipe.

По разпиздяйски, дожди идут, размывае отмоску, дороги, тратуары. Можешь не спорить. В Германии вся дождевая вода уходит в дринаж, со всех домов и дорог за город или село, там озеро. Дороги не размывае и всегда сухо.

Everyone thinks this is great however there are multiple flaws in this system. The first one would be that you used corrugated pipe which is known in the professional industry to be horrible. It collects debris and slows the flow of water due to the corrugations. Another problem would be that you used a catch basin for the downspout. In a large rain event water will be splashing everywhere as it tries to go into the basin. You should just have connected it directly. You also should have bedded the pipe with something more stable than the soggy topsoil you where trying to drain. I would have used 3/4 inch minus all around the solid pipe. Lastly I’d like to point out the duct tape you used. This will degrade significantly over time as its not even designed to be underground. This would mean roots will enter the pipe a couple years after installation. But honestly, if you want to keep roots out just use pvc pipe. I would give this a life of 30 years if it is cleaned regularly.

Plot twist: it's also connected to the toilet 😬

it's supposed to be a French drain. the pipe is supposed to be perforated pipe which here it looks like they used regular corrugated pipe. then you are supposed to use landscaping fabric or something similar that water can pass through. the material they used here doesn't look like water can pass through. if so, then this wouldn't function as a French drain. the gravel and the wrap are unnecessary because without perforated pipe, the water only will drain out of the end of the pipe as opposed to all along the length of the pipe

@@LaFox23 I stand corrected. The perforations are slotted as opposed to circular which made it harder to see in the video.

That's a lot of corrugated flexible tubing. I hope its the perforated tubing to create a drain field. I also hope it's graded in a downhill slope to ensure water flow.

Its a shame we don't collect more rain water for our own use, we pay for water it's madness.

You pay for treated water that's pressurized and delivered right where you need it. Ask your mom or your wife if they'd prefer lugging a bucket full to the bathroom when they wanna take a crap. And then standing there and pouring it in afterwards.

Да стойки и ливнёвки есть и были всегда. Если даже канализационные люки под асфальт закатывают, что уж о ливнёвках говорить! Ну, хотя бы под уклон асфальтировали, так нет, уклон в середине получается, потому что у нас когда кладут асфальт? Правильно! Когда выпал первый снег. Всё через одно место, прости, Господи.

У меня полиэтиленовая труба на 25 мм на глубине 30 сантиметров 12 лет стоит полная воды. Уходит в зиму с водой и весной жду когда лёд расстает в ней, чтобы включить полив. В лопнувшей трубе вода не задерживается после таяния льда. Или задерживается, как ты говоришь?

Я вообще ничего не поняла, 4 раза посмотрела. Ну бежит вода по трубе, а дальше что? Газон поливает вытекая или что? Фигня какая то, с только труда и денег ушло впустую.

I wish there could have written and/or instructions...so many questions regarding itms used, how to connect pcv pipe, and so on. But , I still learned alot.

Что это дренаж или ливневка? 1 пункт правил устройство дренажа - ни когда не объединять с ливневкой.

Пипец. А у нас вся зима в Волгограде, то мороз, то оттепель , все натечет , потом замерзнет в трубе. Вариант для Сочи и то вряд-ли.

The top of the piping should be 6 1/2’ below the surface. Standard chores, such as the annual core aeration will reach down 4+” (residential in clay). Any less depth will subject the pipe to damage from even standard turf chores….

I made that mistake also. Corrugated pipe will plug up fast even with a screen. If your going to use corrugated, make sure to put in clean-out's every 8-12 feet. Smooth wall pipe only from now on. My pressure washer blasts it clean and clear. To each his own.

Гончарную пористую трубу 120 мм в стеклохолсте закапывали. Болота в Белоруссии именно так осушили и до сих пор осушают, только трубой полиэтиленовой. И земля промерзает ниже закладки дренажных труб и по тех условиям стойкость более 100 лет.

To soakaway. A French drain is the opposite of this. It takes water from the land and discharges it, not take discharged water and allow it to drain into the land.
