+Mike M You have to remember, he was sober in 2008, back in 2000 he was still abusing drugs. A lot changes when you're sober, mate. Great show!

Phil's voice is perfect in this live show..

I have no words for how good this is. This shows how good metal can get. God Tier Metal is heavy and soulful without being abrasive. Best rock band in the world, IMO.

Phil had one of the best voices in Metal until he began doing Superjoint. He shredded his chords. He is one of the best of all time. There will never be another Phil

He didn't lose his voice because of superjoint. I'm a singer and I've been studying extreme vocals for a long time. Phil in superjoint had a more technical and softer approach to the vocals even if they sound "heavier". If you know how to do it, try to sing a Pantera song and then a superjoint song and you'll notice that in the second one you'll feel more comfortable. Phil lost his voice because he aged in 2 years from 2009 to 2011 because of his past experiences with all that alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. He's been doing this shit for over 30 years, goddammit.

@@angelotrendkill I'm not that good at vocals, but I love to mess around with all types of harsh vocals. Pantera is way fucking harder than Superjoint. Superjoint is just pure screaming, while Pantera (and Down for that matter) have a lot of melodic screams, which imo are way harder to pull off. Specially those high notes that Phil used to belt. But hey, since the old man stopped doing drugs, drinking and run around/headbang on stage, he has been doing great. Have you seen his 2020 live streams? Since he started doing the Pantera set with the Illegals that he has been at the top of his game again (considering his age and career). Props to him tbh

As far as 'supergroups' go-DOWN play as a well oiled machine vs the typical egos that go along with said projects. Bower is just as important to the band as is Anselmo. KICKASS.

Probably one of the top 10 bands of the last 20 years. Their sound is so unique and so kick ass. I miss the Pantera days but this makes up for their absense some what.

Well that's your right man ^^ Personally I love them both but Pantera had one of my favorite guitarists, and that's what makes the difference. Down has legendary members, and I also love the sludgey even doomy style they developped over the years. I think I really can't compare these bands, or they style, all i can say is that Down and other great bands such as COC survive and it's for the best of everyone on earth if you consider all the crap you hear on the radio. BTW their new EP kicks ass

I'd give anything to have Phil's 2008 voice back. He sounds incredible here. Really not that long ago when you think about it. His voice seemed to deteriorate very quickly. Just like Dave Mustaine's! Neither of them can sing anymore.

He was looking after himself fairly well at this point. Even laid off the smokes. But couldn't hold it up in the long run and the damage is done. Luckily I saw them twice in this period - 2009 was even better.

Saw them in ATL a month ago and Phil sounded really good. Much better than a few years ago and show was insand

@NorthernStar27 Down has been around for a long ass time. They where here long before Super joint. This is just one of the many faces of Phil. With that said, I'd love to see a new Super joint album aswell.
