I’m gonna put some FAQ’s about the song here since most people probably didn’t see the post on my community tab Q: Why is Pentumbra not in the song? A: the trailer explains that story wise Pentumbra was staying neutral and avoiding the conflict all together, however the actual behind the scenes reason is just that the song was written and fully composed long before wave 4 of workshop came out. By the time it dropped it was already too late to try and work Pentumbra into the song itself. So to explain his absence and Atleast feature him somewhere, I worked him into the trailer Q: Will this song be on Spotify? A: Yes! The way I put my songs on streaming services is I wait until I’ve made 4 and then upload them in a group as one album, being my “Ashvee originals”. Currently Ashvee originals volume 1 and Ashvee originals volume 2 are on streaming services, and down in the workshop is the 4th song that’ll be in Volume 3 so I’m currently working on getting that, aswell as “Heavenly Ascent”, “Ban-Banned”, and “World’s on Fire” set up for Volume 3 Q: Can I make covers/remixes/duets/animations with Down in the Workshop? A: Absolutely! My only ask is that you credit me and link the song in the description of your video! Amazing job everybody! Ive always wanted an original song about the Msm lore! The whole team did an amazing job with this!

the whaill/vhenshun duet at the end gave me chills, this is literally amazing

1:12-1:20 and 2:32-2:42 are absolutely my favorite parts because the way you both executed the delivery of the lyrics is immaculate. Ash I love how you when vhenshun was singing you gave him the raspy voice when listing the other elements but when it came to mech you gave him like a royalty kind of vibe where mech is above all the rest. And treble stroke made their part neutral when whaill listed all the elements. You both did an amazing job and I’m obsessed with this

Notice that Whaill tells Vhenshun that the Workshop is the only place they "can" live. Whaill knows why they can't go outside. It's not because they're prisoners, but it's because that doing otherwise would literally risk the lives of the many. Whaill knows that the personal goal is clashing with the well-being of others.

When I heard the part about the ethereals in the workshop being created by someone and the island being created a long time ago it blew my mind away and got me thinking about a theory. The theory I thought about was that we know Zarroe created the single element ethereals and maybe the ethereals went inside of Zarroe’s head they found the synthesizer and one single element and one double element ethereal merged there elements together and put it in the structure and Meebkin was created explaining why you get it for free when unlocking the workshop at level 19. But, because of how unstable Meebkin was all the ethereals considered Meebkin as a reject and left him behind. Meebkin wanted revenge and new friends at the same time so he made the meeb creator machine thing. When Meebkin was finally done with it, it opened up and was able to have access to teleportation to get the mirror dimension. And, considering the meebs come from the mirror dimension, it would make lots of sense that the single ethereals created the meebs and Meebkin kidnapped the meebs and took them back to the workshop. When Meebkin got back, he used the meebs for the synthesizer to create the triple and quad ethereals. When he created them he told them about the other ethereals betraying them and he wanted revenge and wanted the ethereals he made to get rid of them to own the entirety of ethereal island and it might explain why Vhenshun wanted to get to the top to destroy the single and double ethereals. But, when Meebkin told whaill h disagreed with him and wanted to stay in the workshop and everyone else agreed expect Vhenshun because he still wanted to fight the ethereals to get rid of them and finally have the workshop and ethereal island all to themselves including the rest of the ethereals in the workshop. It explains why Whaill says in the song he wants to stay in the workshop and doesn’t wanna get caught because they think them and the triple and quad ethereals will get killed by the single and double ethereals if they get caught. Edit: I realized when I heard in the song the workshop being built by someone a long time ago I realized that maybe Zarroe used the workshop to create the single element ethereals which could also explain why and how the double elemental ethereals were made and then Zarroe found the single element ethereals creating the double element ethereals and as son as Fung Pray was made Zarroe was not happy with them so they banned them from the workshop and it gives us a hint of why the ethereal made Meebkin because they snuck in the workshop when Zarroe was busy and not looking at them. Also I had another theory that when Meebkin finally created all the triple and quad ethereals they went to the top of ethereal island and had a fight with the other ethereals and Zarroe noticed them and he let the single and double element ethereals go. But, not the other ethereals and Meebkin because he was even more angry than he was before so he trapped the ethereals inside the workshop and eventually Zarroe forgot as well as the single and double ethereals. Even the triple and quad ethereals after they agreed that they didn’t want to leave the workshop. But, Vhenshun didn’t. But he forgot who created them though. And that’s why Vhenshun wants to have revenge over the ethereals still. However if there is a final island including all the ethereals including the ones from the workshop. That means they will have to be friends and get along with each other in order for the last island with the ethereals to exist. It will probably be like a gold ethereal island. My guess it will arrive at the end of anniversary month 2024 this year considering the poison quad will be out by then so thats the workshop ethereals backstory for you. The single element ethereals were created, they used the synthesizer to make the double ethereals, got caught by Zarroe and were banned from the workshop, snuck into the workshop and created Meebkin but they all hated him because he was too unstable, Meebkin used the meebs to make the rest of the triple and quad ethereals, him and the ethereals he created fighted for revenge because of what Meebkin told them about the other ethereals leaving him behind, Zarroe got mad at Meebkin and his friends so he trapped them forever in the workshop, Whaill said he didn’t want to leave the workshop because he was worried they would all get found and killed, all the other ethereals agreed with Whaill except Vhenshun, Vhenshun didn’t forget about wanting to leave the workshop but forgot about who created him, and if his plan works then the ethereals will have to get along and be friends for once and for all and that will mean the ethereal gold island will become a thing at the end of anniversary month 2024 after the poison quad comes out.

One part i really love about this is the leit motif of ethereal workshop changed around to be really villanous. I know its not much but I just love that detail. also the promanance of Venshuns clinking sound as the main beat. bravo! bravo!
