I love seeing the younger generation appreciate the music of my generation. Alice in Chains is one of my favorite bands. She did an amazing job. She has some real talent.

It's a fickle thing. I can play Killing In The Name and "sing" the verse, which is a picked riff with a lot of movement, but the chorus, which is chords being strummed, I can't utter a word without messing up. She did a great job.

Mostly I play bass. My best chances of singing and playing guitar at the same time are if I'm playing rhythm guitar, but only simple stuff.

My husband knew Layne very well, was involved with the business side of his singing career. So he has many stories of Layne that make me wish I could have met him. I'm told he was one of the kindest people you'd ever want to know, but obviously a very tortured soul. Rest in Peace, Layne.

also there are new treatments coming out which didn't exist in 1993-94, they modify the shape of the type 2b serotonin for people with clinical depression .. so they won't need to rely on generic SSRIs that don't predictably cure patients in the same way. (as far as i know)

The true story of Layne's death is so tragic and sad. I'm 44 and grew up at the height of this song n my best friend (Jim) at that time passed away exactly like Layne did back in 2017 and the last time I talked to him was back in 2011 and I had just lost my current best friend (Bill).. So I was animated and pissed off at him for putting his mom thru his drug n alcohol abuse n it was the last time that I ever talked to him and the last time that I ever seen Jim was 3 nights b4 Bill died back in 2011. I have so many memories of these guys n u singing this song makes me really miss being young and having fun with those guys. Thank u

This is great, thank you for this. Got a chance to hear Alice In Chains live once; and hearing an acoustic version with a female tone is incredible. You did marvelous! Very inspirational.

Welp, didn't expect to spent this evening with goosebumps. Threw me right back to being in my gf's candle-lit room back in the 90's, when we used to smoke, play guitar, and endlessly listen to music into the early hours. It's not easy doing Alice in Chains songs, and as a massive fan of theirs I can honestly say this is the best cover I've ever heard. Proud someone is keeping grunge alive, rock on :) PS. Don't know if you've covered it already, but I'd love to hear you play "Plush" by Stone Temple Pilots.

Sticky Steve yeah....but....can they really lol? Those are two polar opposite mindsets. I’m a musician and am around female musicians like Alicia all of the time, they just don’t. The waters are still and run deep. I’m not saying that none do it, but that shallow, superficial, attention seeking shit just isn’t a common personality trait that you will see in a real musician.

Layne Staley is my absolute favorite vocalist... I've flat out refused to go to an AIC concert since he died / wasn't a part of the band. You lovely lady... IF you fronted the band, I WOULD go again... Very impressed with you.... Great pipes!!!! Liked and subbing... I want to hear more! THANK YOU!

True story. I was in love with a beautiful girl named Summer. It was 1990 or so. We rode the bus together and talked quite a bit. One day she had headphones on and asked if I wanted to listen with her. I asked who it was and she said "Alice In Chains" and I said PFFFTTT sounds like a chick band. She never talked to me again. 3 years later Beavis and Butthead is on in the background and I hear this amazing song....INTO THE FLOOD AGAIN, SAME OLD..... I was like "who is that?" It was one of the best songs I ever heard. When I saw the name of the band I wanted to punch myself.

Down In A Hole has definitely got to be one of my favorite Alice in Chains songs. There’s just so much simplicity in the instrumental and beauty in the vocals. Layne Staley was an amazing soul. Great cover man! Definitely checking out your other content!

@@Webgobo Yes, it is IMO. It's not your typical shonen with the big boobed anime girls and all that shit. I'll say this. It seems very light-hearted at first , but then gets very dark and serious and you're like "Oh shit" .

One of my favourite songs, and beautifully done. Great voice.

I have absolutely no idea how you go from this to Rooster to PennyRoyal Tea to Zombie and then to a soft song like Cranberries - Linger and you do each one justice and make each one sound fantastic. Its weird to see/hear such a slight and sweet looking little girl sing these songs but its great. Really loved the guitar work on Linger👍👌❤

Very dark & haunting beautiful poetry that may be confusing to you, though I lived Laynes pain for much of my life. At 13 I am sure you have experienced heartache & suffering in some way, & there is so much music from my generation that speaks to every emotion & trauma we experience in our lives. So sorry that much of the music today pointless trash with a funky beat. Could you imagine being a teen without a cell phone, Instagram (I have never been on Instagram or Twitter in my life), or KZread? Growing up with real, true friends & experiences, walking around without seeing everyone to their selves with their heads down in their phones. Going out with your friends & having real, present, wonderful experiences. Going to concerts to rock out & create an intimate memory you will never forget instead of experiencing through the camera lens on your phone. The excitement of going to a record store to buy the latest album from your favorite band, creating your own trends, discovering who you really are without having the pressure to emulate these so called fake "influencers", & so on & so on. I had a friggin pager at your age & quarters in my pocket at all times in case I needed to make a phone call. I waa born in 77', & the 80's & 90's were NOTHING like life today. Have your parents recommend some music to you. Stay true to who you are, which is God's BEAUTIFUL creation made out of love to spread love. Be kind to yourself. Be kind to others. Love & pray for others who have hurt you instead of living in anger & resentment. Do unexpected, kind things for others (watch the movie Pay it Forward).
