After seeing the extensive dating simulator in the game, "down down down by the river" took on a whole other meaning 😂

When you’re stuck in the character creation screen for 6 hours and you have this lovely melody to listen to. It’s heaven. You just knew this was the start of a very special game.

so uh, i don't know if you guys were aware but the tadpole was originally supposed to seduce you and be its own sentient being named Daisy. and she was supposed to have given you a happy lover life by tricking you when you give in. and you undergo ceremorphosis as a mindflayer. you were supposed to be down by the river with your lover while also screaming in pain lmao

The original intention was literally the opposite funnily enough. Before the Emperor was worked in to the plot, the Dream Visitor was a regular mind flayer that tried to convince you to drown yourself "Down by the river". In the Beta version of the game, you didn't visit them by a giant skull in the astral plane, you were chilling next to a river bank. "Don't wake me up. Just leave me there Dreaming"

This song is so beautiful like i legit want to cry 😭♥️♥️♥️ it pulls the correct strings. [Minor spoilers] My first time in char creation, the "You need a guardian" voice synced perfectly with one of the high parts of the song, it legit, not kidding, surprised me in a very mesmerising way. That's when I knew i wasn't going to play any normal game.

I have bad ptsd, my anxiety is really bad, and i find it extremely hard to relax. Gaming helps me relax, has done since i was a child an this song helps me relax an calm. I go on the game and find i haven't actually played for like an hour because im just listening to this song. It's very beautiful

Such a great song, especially for the character creation system. Personally this song reminds me of the Elfsong Tavern theme from the first Dark Alliance, and as a result gives me major nostalgia vibes.

I could listen to this forever! I spent such a long time in character creation just to continue hearing this heavenly melody and vocals!

This song started playing on my head, while i was doing something else entirely... only 1 song managed to do that before, And it was FF9 map song (i used to play that game a lot back when i was about 15th, now im 37th), and it was in a very happy moment of my life. So that this game managed to do that. Im eternally grateful to have listened to your beautiful voice. And Baldur's Gate 3 is probably the best gaming expirience ive ever had. Yes ive played lots of other games, some even more, specially MMOs as they have maximum replayability. But this one stuck to my heart. Thank you for this great game. The only issue, is that now im on post baldur's gate 3 syndrome... lol every game i would have think were good, are now trash.. Devs were right being afraid ...

I can sing, but I have a lot of difficulty doing it with emotion/making the song impactful in a unique way. I am astonished by how this song, every time I hear it, fills me with an almost melancholic acceptance. It feels like I'm at the end of a journey, like I just finished something massive and I am finally able to rest. Then this song plays at the beginning, and you don't hear it again until the end. Beautiful.

Hilarious that the song for 'creating your character' is a beautiful melody about banging by the river.

By far the best character creation in any video game where it's inviting and soothing and want to just never leave and let it play and just relax while being taken to another world. 👏 Brravo

This song has plus 7 in charisma. Used the charm spell on me and cast minor illusion to put my whole body and mind at ease as I take a hold person right to the face while it attacks me with a glorious glint in its eyes. Seriously though... The vocals are so angelic.. it's like a sirens song that draws you in. I hope she does tours as I'd love her to sign my copy of the game 😀

I remember the beating I took for Lovaitar and how I broke my oath, the slaughter of the grove in my madness. The girl with the lute..I couldn't save her but Minthara. She was like me ( 2 broken oath sworn paladin's ) and together with shields out and swords drawn we made all those that challenged us pay... In the end I said goodbye and paid the final price to save her from myself. A price my father would hold above me, but a price I paid in full.... (>.

This is that type of song that goes with anything as long as it is emotional related.

Love this song so much.

I heard somewhere that the lyrics are indicative of the beta, where instead of having a fixed Dream Visitor you had a choice of who would visit you in your sleep, which actually included the Tadpole itself. If chosen it would urge the player character to give up and essentially join it "down the river"... i.e. end their life.

Beautiful song but I can't get Chris Farley and his van out of my head when I heard the lyrics, haha.

People will stay in character creation screen for an hour and then say: "Yeah, human paladin".
