Thanks so much for this wonderful message from the heart. Bob's writing navigated through BS (belief systems) with the ease of a flying lasagna, and yet he could balance sarcasm and optimism in such a masterful way that I couldn't help but smile as I contemplated his analysis of the insanity of our primate herd. I too had the pleasure of Bob and Arlen's company, and your description brought tears. Bob was brilliant, often caustic, but also entirely, disarmingly humble and kind. Thanks, Doug.

I've watched this over and over through the years and it becomes more and more real to me through time. I truly miss Wilson as a friend. While he challenges me more than other philosophers intellectually...he will always be the human asking me to care for myself and others in a way that means more than anyone else asking that of me. When I ever see the question, "Living or dead, who would you like to have dinner/spend time with"...Wilson always comes to mind. He was the human that pushed my buttons. I'd say for better or for worse but Wilson always brings out a better me. So I have no need to qualify. It has been almost a decade since this video first popped up and I still fell the same way.

This was helpful. Thank you for sharing. I just came across Robert's work. Well timed. Sometimes I feel way behind the curve with my discovery of energies and influences. I'm finding his ideas useful and it's nice to listen to people that have a connection to them.

About two minutes in and I'm already imagining in my mind some wise ass responses that RAW might have come up with. He would have definitely embraced the term "teabagger".

The target for most of RAW's acerbic put downs would have been the wokists. Same with Hitch. They were both against 'believing' but not 'believing in'.

Thanks for this ode to Bob, Douglas. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but his books absolutely changed my life in profound ways, like a single domino leading to a whole cascade of falling dominoes. I love his combination of humor and profundity. Oh, by the way, if you're reading this then I dub thee a Pope of the Discordian Alliance for Deviant Activities (D.A.D.A.). I now excommunicate you. We discordians have to stick apart, after all ;)

I love how today, I was thinking of reading and re-listening some of Bob's lectures and essays and when I came back home from a gruelling day at work, my roommate informs me there is a Robert Anton Week going on right now. The timing could not have been more perfect. I wonder what would Bob have to say about how SOPA and the protect IP acr are trying to stop the free flow of information that's going around the world faster and faster, as Bob once pointed out... Thank you Douglas for this video.

Bleh, I would hope that RAW would have a more skewed and less trite insight into current events.

Nicely put. I laugh all the time about the current political climate thinking about RAW's 'Guns and Dope' party in the back of my head. It is surely the secret to populist success.
