I just love the irony of Douglas refusing to debate Finkelstein, then calling out Kennedy to a debate saying he won’t discuss ideas. That’s all Douglas cares about, ideas… Until it comes to the Israel/Gaza conflict where please can anyone direct me to a debate where he speaks about these ‘ideas’ hes so open to discuss? Just seems like he loves speaking out both sides of his mouth, loves going on about open discussion of ideas until its with someone who is highly regarded on the topic, he just tries to discredit him for using ‘identity politics’ which is what he hates others using, but he will use them as a reason to not debate Finkelstein.

If it’s so purely the truth and he even states in this video. The only reason Kennedy won’t debate him is he clearly doesn’t think his ideas will stack up. He thinks hes a joke etc but he openly still asks him to debate and clowns him for not doing so. But when it comes to Norm Finkelstein, go watch the clip with Piers when asked if he’ll debate. He has similar objections to his viewpoints on the subject but instead of bringing his standard he has here where he wants to openly discuss the ideas, he refuses to debate Norm. Now one can only assume as Douglas does here, that if you turn down a debate its obviously because you know your ideas will lose.

Douglas wouldn’t dare debate Norm Finkelstein, instead he had to wait until he was done speaking to perform an ad-hominem attack to try and smear his credibility, and slide out of a debate when challenged to one. It’s funny Douglas never wants to openly debate this issue because he’s only seen the IDF’s side. He went to Israel and when you go there every story is checked off by the IDF, you’re under IDF protection the whole time, shown one side of the story, you’d think he’d want to let his audience openly discuss these ideas and bring up the valid points of the other side. But he just continually strawmans the Pro-Palestine position.

There have definitely been decades of moral rot at universities. But this is old news. In the 1980s I entered grad school at Penn and this moral rot was already well entrenched. If we could just sit down in small groups and have a frank talk about racism - all types of racism not just white racism but also black racism etc. - the US could become a better place.
