I bought a Cameo with Doug Jones as a wedding present for my husband, and if anyone knows Cameo they don't give you a huge amount of room to write details, but Doug somehow managed to stretch it out to about 10 minutes and was so lovely and made it feel so personal. My husband still loves that video, although he resents the fact that I won best present that day!

In my opinion anybody that's on cameo and is willing to take that much money for a few lines recorded on a phone, SHOULD do their very best to atleast go beyond what's written after saying it. I'd feel like a real prat thief taking all that cash for 3 seconds of speaking.

Thanks Dom and Billy, for having Doug Jones on the show! I met him before the pandemic, and he gave me the biggest hug! It was like hugging a big, friendly stick insect. I genuinely think he might be the nicest person on the planet.

I was recently watching the Lord of the Rings this week and took your advice to find ways to slip the word “fuck” into each film to maintain the PG-13 rating. Here are 2 of them: The Fellowship of the Ring: during the council of Elrond scene with all the different characters debating on who will take the ring to Mordor: Legolas: “Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The ring must be destroyed!” Boromir: “And if we fail, what then? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his?” Gimli: “I will be ‘fucked’ dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an Elf! Hey guys! Loving the podcast. I have a suggestion for Billy and Dom eat the world. Have either of you ever tried dulse? As an east coast Canadian from a small fishing town called St. Martin's in New Brunswick, I'm curious if you've ever tried it. It's a type of seaweed that is picked during low tide and dried in the sun. It's quite salty and chewy and to be honest I for one do not like it but the people who do like it seem to love it for it's strong unique taste. I don't know if it's strictly Canadian but I've never really seen it eaten anywhere else. Plus I feel like Dom would like it.

Loved the Casper episode, I just finished “Smith of Wootton Major” by professor Tolkien. It’s a lovely story and features a “great cake.” I’m going to look up a recipe for a dream cake and make one. And I will be sure to make coffee!!

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Doug at Rhode Island comic con years ago. Such a nice gentleman. And growing up loving the universal monsters and the marvelous Jack Pierce, and lon Cheyney before him, I was always drawn to Dougs work. For me, my favorite is Pans Laberynth

I also heard the one winged dove lyric, but I thought it was a metaphor for the devil. Doves are associated with peace and it's impossible to fly with one wing so I thought it meant that peace had fallen. like how the devil lost his angel wings and was cast out of heaven. Keep in mind that I first heard this song on the retro stations when I was little. I was and still am a very strange child.

My wife and I met both Billy and Doug at FantasyCon in salt lake City in 2014. I wonder if either was aware at the time that the other was there.

The difference of mammal sea creatures and fish and how they swim is the direction of the their tale. Mammal tails are horizontal and fish are vertical. With you can tell the difference of a dolphin or shark if you can only see their dorsal fin. Love the podcast I've been watching from the beginning I enjoy each episode and have learned many new things. Thank you both!

Another wonderful episode, as usual. As for where to put a swear in a Rings movie, I believe any line in the Merry and Pippin firework sequence of Fellowship would be perfect.... "No no, the big one. When I'm at work, I'm usually alone. For a while, I was trying to come up with tongue twisters, basically to amuse myself and keep my mind busy. Try saying some of these, five times, fast: -Phenomenal aluminum anomalies. -Six chic chefs slice six sheep shanks. -Bad room, rad broom, bride groom. -Beware! A wee bar wench bares bar ware.

I was thinking a lot about where I'd add a swear word into LOTR, and I think I found a decent spot. Now there is no dialogue to include it with so it's just inserting it as a singular word to a scene. The scene when Bilbo and Frodo are at Rivendale and the moment when Bilbo sees the ring around Frodo's neck and wishes to see the ring again, he has that jump scare/face changing moment and lunges at Frodo and screams. When Frodo jumps back with his hand on his chest covering the ring he just quickly yells "F*CK"

We don't know how ofren they record or how much they record at once, plus it has to get edited etc. Maybe they sit down with a guest for a long time but if they don't split it up it's harder to put out regular content. They're only splitting up the conversation, there isn't a cliffhanger hahah.

Those blue whale facts sound like they should be fake. I can’t tell if they were gaslighting me

I really don't like sudden shouting and singing. If nothing else, it makes things less suitable to watch or listen to on mobile at night.
