Fabulous tutorial. I thought those zippered bags would be very difficult to make and not for a novice like me. Your very thorough tutorial shows me that with a good teacher and some care anything is possible. Thank you so much.

Thank you so very much. This is, by far, the best video on double zipper bags I have seen. Everything is clearly explained and easy to follow. I absolutely love the fabric zipper stops. They give the bag a very professional look. I can't wait to get started.

I love pouches with several zippers like this because they help me to keep my purse organized and able to find things quickly. Love the way you showed how to do the zippers. Thanks for this VERY helpful tutorial!

Your version of this type of bag is fabulous! I love that the lining is not baggy and flopping around which is what happens with the drop-in or turned lining. Even if you work at making the lining smaller, tapering it to the bottom or whatever, it still looks and feels sloppy. This method makes a very neat and clean-looking lining. By the way, I used WAY less than 1/3 yard of fabric for this. You are a fine teacher and even though I've been sewing for quite a while, I always learn from you.

Very thorough. I would love for you to do an update where you show how to attach some way to add a strap to the bag. Loops?

Sherrill, it looks like we need 2 pieces of the 10" x 10" lining. No problem. It was easy to see that. Also, I used 9" zippers and I added straps with D Rings at the very top side seams. It all worked out fine. Great bag.

Evoush hi there. Is the missing piece where I went wrong. The pockets aren't separated. You open each zipper into the same compartment 😢 I could be one of those Negative Nancys 😂

Would it pose a problem if you lined up & ;trimmed the sides wider than the 3/4" outside of the zipper tabs you put on each end of zipper?

Great video(Yet again) What's puzzling is....who the heck clicked the thumbs down button? It's not like they're forced to watch and its free so.....not to mention the time Ms. Sheryl put into making the video for beginners geez negative Nancy's are real jerks. Lol Have a great day stay positive and remember "as you sew so shall you rip" :)

Would there be a way to put a shoulder strap on when constructing?

  • @evoush1913

It's easy to add shoulder straps. Just sew the two tabs for D rings to both sides of the narrow fabric above the top zipper. That's what I did and it came out fine.
