Wow, Fifi! You have a really nice channel! I just subscribed.
Really high quality and applicable videos. Good job.
I can’t wait to try this!!!
Hey man, i know this is primarily a language channel, but it would be really cool to see a video about your computer programming learning experience. Study habits, programming language/s you’ve learned, etc.

Yoga, let me just say, I really appreciate your new videos. They spread to more than just language learning, and really are just for life skills. It’s truly great to watch 😊
these tips are life saving
Was waiting for this video! Definitely gonna give it a shot as I tend have a hard time doing uninteresting tasks thank you!
Will definitely try out some timeboxing, thanks for the vids yoga

Bro. You’re a G. That’s all I need to say 🙌🏾
I'm rewatching this for the first time since it came out and realised I've pretty much never used timeboxing in that work/leisure combination. I'd assumed the leisure part had meant non-study type immersion and had just been using my leisure slots for watching youtube and netflix in my TL. Very glad I rewatched, switching between non-language learning activities with timeboxing will definitely help me get back into my TL after taking a break. I've gotten so much use of of timeboxing for reading and doing anki related tasks, wouldn't have made as much progress without it. Fantastic video
You seem like you're getting a lot more comfortable with your presentation in every new video, your content has been really great, keep it up!
Thanks again, Yoga! I'm currently doing something similar with my "timeboxes" being a bit longer depending on the material I'm looking at. Didn't realize it had a name. I'll take all these variations of timeboxing in mind :)
I used timeboxing to watch this video while doing my SRS reps. Lots of good advice in this video that I'm definitely gonna try out!
Tried this by working on my novel’s manuscript, and it helped a lot. I made a YT series about media making (as a very particular kind of personality), and I think timeboxing might make a great addition to it as a mental tool. Thanks and cool vid bro 😎
I would definetly be in favour of a timeboxing addon. This video was very helpful. :)
Looking a lot more confident on camera!
in my opinion this is the best video you ever made i still use it regularly if i fall off the wagon

gonna try this out. I almost ended up doing nothing about language learning a day right now., going to a downward spiral. hope this work out, thanks man
I didn't even realize I was already timeboxing with the various things I've been trying to improve at. Anyway, love the videos, keep 'em up.
Interesting, I'll give it a try. I'll come back here in a month or so.

Great vid! Definitely trying it on my college studies for the next couple of weeks. About the Anki add-on, tbh I'd rather wait for the Migaku SRS :^)
I would certainly welcome updated versions of some of your older videos.
I'm not quite sure whether I've really understood, but it kind of sounds similar to the pomodoro technique where you have "sprint"-intervals of 25 minutes and breaks of 5 minutes. Your 5-7min goal-goal intervals seem a bit short to me though as you usually need some time to mentally switch into your task and find full focus. Personally, when I'm doing a high focus task and get interrupted i.e. by someone demanding my attention and talking to me, it takes me about 3-5 minutes to completely get back into full focus and no other thoughts are crossing my mind anymore. So, taking a 25 min interval, the first 5 minutes are way less effective than the following 20 (or at least the following 15 min as it's hard to stay fully focused for more than 15 minutes). But I'd definitely appreciate a good timer add-on for anki. So far, I'm using a pomodoro-timer. And btw., how is the development of the Anki-editor add-on for current Anki versions going¿ :)
Interested in the upcoming timeboxing tool! :)
I think an anki add on for time boxing sounds pretty good
I'm not sure how much I'd use the anki time boxing addon, but I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like in the browser extension! It's already so good, I can't wait to see how it develops ^^
This is cool! cheers. I've done something slightly similar switching between anki decks to persist with reps, but this strategy is better. I already tried it while watching the video and got a load of extra reps done. This could increase anki work capacity dramatically nice! I see a great use for this approach. This strategy does seem different from what's commonly called timeboxing though.

@@MigakuOfficial Well it's cool anyway regardless of what it's called. I've been trying it out for a few days now. I'm really impressed. Especially for tough stuff like Anki reps when tired or unmotivated. Not so good for writing but that's to be expected, because of the time taken to get focused and into writing. Overall very impressed with this method very!
I started doing timeboxing since your video about doing 100 kanji a day. This helped me so much: my life is mainly on timeboxing mode now since that pesky disease attacked. Dude, an anki add-on for timeboxing would be INSANE! My workload would never be done without timeboxing! I wish I had money, so I could endorse Yoga to make these faster.... specifically the timeboxing and the new SRS....

Unfortunately the team and I pivoted and decided that I should be focused on development work since that's where I add the most value. However, I should at least be appearing in videos again sometime this year.
Definitely would be interested in an anki add on for timeboxing. It reminds me of the pomodoro technique, but I stopped using it cuz I thought that I shouldn't be wasting my time on rest when I could be studying more(Don't worry I do take breaks but they're usually between 1 hour intervals). So I'm really interesting in the goal-goal timeboxing.

Leisure time is ridiculously important so be careful of trying to schedule all of your time with activities you “must” do.
I’ve been doing this but haven’t known what it’s called. While doing school work I work until I start to get restless, then I go outside and read some manga(I love immersing with paper manga) and read for twenty minutes or so then get back into school work. I just gotta make sure I don’t get too caught up in what I’m reading.
Would like to see a video of you time boxing :) I watched that video where you explained how u used time boxing to to 100 kanji a day. And I specifically remember you saying that one day, you had more than 1k reviews. That's crazy! YOURE CRAZY!! haha
Yeah, I would like to see a vid of u actually timeboxing!
I didn't realize that this technique had a name. I usually did this to cycle between two or three methods of studying so I wouldn't go mad from one
Pleeeeease do make the timeboxing add-on!
And here I was thinking you were going to talk about a new form of boxing that allows one to time travel.
transitions were nice

Or simply take a break from your Anki reviews to do other joyful activities such as cleaning the toilet, giving you new motivation to go back to your reviews as soon as possible.
3:09 Michael? What are you doing here? He must be timeboxing... Or is he?
zen~~~
A separate time boxing app based on your principles as a phone app would be nice. Maybe with customize-able projects. Like Toggl. So we can track the amount of time put into specific activities without having to use Toggl and a timer/Migaku and the inputting our activity.
Just tried this with my anki reviews. I average 45-50 minutes per day in Anki and with 15 minute intervals I finished in roughly 1hr 40 minutes with 50 minutes of review time. It does seem to relieve a lot of stress that I usually have when doing reviews. I think it took a bit longer to learn my 20 new cards due to losing short term memory, but my reviews were a little faster to compensate. I would guess that my retention for the new cards might be a bit better since I took more time before graduating them this time, but only time will tell.
I would be interested in the anki add-on but I also see myself using the migaku srs exclusively as soon as it gets out so I would give that priority
I feel like if I didn't "timebox" my programming sessions I would definitely go completely insane by now. Immersing yourself into programming often leads to crappy code that creates more problems than it solves.

The migaku browser add-on looks insanely useful, is there a guide on the patron discord to safely remove all the mia add-ons(if required) I've got and switch over to the migaku ones. I'm afraid to mess up everything I've done so far.
I think Ill give it a shot, as it stands it takes me 2+ hours to do 100 reviews Ill give it a shot today

if you're doing what you say you're doing then you're on the right path, if you're still having problems then i hv 3 theories 1)either you're too tensed and not studying attentively in which case you shoud reduce your work and try to take it slow 2) your material is too easy for you. If this is the case then study using more difficult material 3)you are at the last stage of immersion study. If this is the case then you should be using KZread to mimic the way English speaking youtubers speak. note:You should also make sure that all of the material you're using belongs to one dialect of english as different dialects of english have many differences between them

i mean an addon might be useful but surely all people need is some shitty alarm tool that can give a beep every 5 mins right? im sure theres websites that can do that already

@@MigakuOfficial Well I've heard other people say that they do far less (one deck, ten new cards a day) and was wondering your opinion on a good amount of reps. I only recently (about two months ago) started using Anki daily, but I'm trying to fast track my Japanese as much as possible. I'm using Core 2k and Core 4k decks along with the Tae Kim Vocab deck and a deck for words I come across in life/studies.

it's too much, those cards will pile up to hundreds and hundreds of reviews in a few weeks You'll need to spend too much time on anki. better trade some of that time and immerse/watch/read
