DFCCIL has been created to undertake planning & development, mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the Dedicated Freight Corridors.
DFC :- The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India
Total length - 3,260 KM
Founded: 30 October 2006
Under the Eleventh Five Year Plan of India (2007-12)
The Ministry of Railways started constructing a new Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) in two long routes
1. Eastern dedicated freight corridors {EDFC}
2. Western dedicated freight corridors {WDFC}
EDFC :-
The Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor
Start From Ludhiana in Punjab to Dankuni in West Bengal
Total length:- 1873 KM
Note:- 56% complete
WDFC :-
Western Dedicated Freight Corridor
Start from Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai (Maharashtra) to Dadri in Uttar Pradesh
Total length:-1504 KM
Note :- 60% Complete
Budget of 2021-22 announced
1.East West DFC :- 2000 KM
2.North South DFC :- 975 KM
3.East Coast DFC :- 1115 KM
4.Southern DFC :- 892 KM
Now total length of dfc is 8359 km.

The infrastructure development in India is undeniable. This is what was missing till now. Seeing so many freight/goods trains with double stacked containers and moving at high speed is incredible!! 👌👌👌👏👏🙏🙏

As far as I know there's nothing quite like this in Europe (yet). Double tracked & electrified for double stacked containers, dedicated for freight trains. Would be great to have though. We could sure use a few of these line in Europe. The ultimate dream would be for one such line to connect Europe to India too! geopolitics is in the way. But if there was such a line? yeah, it would be a very busy line.

If BJP were not there then, we surely wudnt have seen WDFC, EDFC, Bullet Train, Jammu- Srinagar railway line, Tallest Railway arch bridge in Jammu, Vande Bharat Trains, Bio toilets in railway, Railway expansion in Northeast, Electrification of Indian Railway, water & electricity connection to remote villages, RRTS project, many new airpots under UDAN scheme, dozens of Expressway, Sewri- Nava Seva Sea link, Dozens of new metro train lines in many cities, better international relationships, control on terrorism sponsored by pak & china, better economy conditions inspite of Covid-19, huge increase in foriegn reserves, Statue of Unity, Bridges in Brahmaputra river... etc etc.. There are more and more to talk on BJP'S development work. BJP forever...❤❤❤

To disperse tension. They are double stacked so the load is enormous for each wagon. The strain will break the coupling. In between a few containers there's a big couple area, that's why the gap

@@somtirthadas9347 to avoid crossing roads. There's a town nearby and many roads under it. DFCs are very busy so they'll make so much road traffic if not elevated. Most of thr DFC isn't elevated. Only the one's passing through major roads, towns have them.

Rail companies were paid twice the amount for similar works that was done in Americas or Australia. Money was taxed from India. BTW, this is new project. Read DFC
