Every single time every single video I watch 🩷 it's the least I can do for the folks who bring me so much entertainment.
I always hit 👍🏼 for people I follow. Always hit it before watching. Then it doesn’t get overlooked. Content creators deserve that.😊
Thanks for another great episode! Congrats on all the finds. Would still love to come out from Fife sometime! Now go have yourself a pint.
Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend, from this old man in Tennessee. Queen Victoria seems to be popular in this field. Double Silver…you’re crushing it. A DIAMOND! Woohoo! I can’t wait to hear the story on that broach. Cool.

Well done John! A gem of a video!
“Nothing substantially old”??? That diamond, I would say, is very substantially old, the setting, not so much!
Congratulations John, not only silver but a diamond too! Wow!! I have seen diamonds come up from beaches, but they were modern pieces, this is a first from a field that I have seen.
Since you didn’t have a lay down for the diamond, you must start the next video doing a cartwheel 😂. Great outing, Mrs. Scottish Detectorist deserves at a minimum a delicious home cooked meal.
Damn John!!! What a field!!! They would have to drag me off that one!!! Congrats Sir on some fast and furious finds!!! GREAT VIDEO!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Fantastic video and finds, John - as ever, thanks for sharing.
John, regarding the brooch, back in the day, they didmount diamonds in sterling silver. Maybe late 1800/ early 1900's. Check to see if itis silver. Deserves a trip to a jeweler. Great videos, though!
Very nice day for you John! As you say fantastic finds! For both days, not as old as you want, but old enough!
Great set of finds John, and well done on the piece with the diamond, cracking find. All the best bud and HH.
Great that you found a couple of more silver coins, and I hope that the jewel does turn out to be a diamond. You are rapidly approaching the 43K subscriber mark too, and you deserve it. Cheers from Texas.
You're a legend John.
That was bloody great! Well done john! I believe Mrs John and you deserve a treat.
Great finds John¡!!!!!!!
WOW thats so beautiful John😮😊
Wow, what a sparkler.. can't wait for the follow up.
Great dig John, thoroughly enjoyed it.😊
Fantastic afternoon of detecting following on from a fantastic morning. Thanks for sharing
Thanks John, always enjoy your videos, and the diamond is real! Congratulations!
John that diamond jewellery was stunning. Just a thought, I would have dug out the clump of soil around it in case some of the other stones had fallen out in to it. May be worth going back and checking where you dug it up!!! 🥰
John our weathers not hot but you are what a part two lovely finds, like the brooch thanks again cheers
Another great dig always a pleasure to watch. 😊
Thank you for another wonderful video, John. We look forward to the follow up on the brooch stones. 💎
One way of telling is to use a magnet. Precious metals are not magnetized. I use one when I’m thrifting, the only thing with that is that Rhodium blocks the silver from being detected. I make jewelry so I’m always looking too! Hi from Toronto!
Another fantastic video John. Big iron always fools me too, although i did have a lovely tudor horseshoe a couple weeks ago so it's not always bad😂
Great video John 👍 I think I ended my silver drought yesterday... I had a double silver day too, a Henry VI Groat and a George V sixpence. 😊👍
what a cracking day john did you do well
Our guy Big John hitting it with the Queen Vic Joey's. Let's hope that gem is a real gem.! Great upload brother.! Appreciated.!! Bless up 👊
Nice! Great job!
On it john 😀💪🏴🏴🏴
Wow some good finds 👍
Congratulations on another great day of finds. Cheers from New Orleans
wonderful finds today
I'm loving your luck. You work hard for it.
Well done John. In my detectorist career i only took 4 silver in 3 years in Portugal. Nice fields you have keep going!
I think the round pendent is a scarf pin.
Brilliant thanks for showing
What awesome finds congratulations.
What a day indeed! Fab finds 🙂

Nice finds John! You can get one of those diamonds tester pens for under $20 to test the stone. Or you can visit a local jeweler shop. Good luck!!
you finally got your volume right in the lite box! THANK YOU!!!!
I’m writing this as I watch, so I don’t know what you come up with at the round up/cleanup at the end of your video. 6:17 That could be lead from a window (something arched). So far, you’ve found a chunk of lead an an old piece of pottery. Good signs that there was occupation there. 😊 7:58 I love the British and Scottish history. Thank you for these little interludes. That’s what makes this enjoyable for me. I also love that you detect over such ancient land. It’s really exciting because you never know what you could find! I think to find older relics, such as artifacts older than the year of our LORD- more than 2,000 years ago, you would need to dig much deeper and more towards the coast where people had their homes and businesses for trade. 12:40 Amazing! 🎉 Do you ever make impressions from the coins you find and mint some new ones? They would make cool rings or bracelets. 16:52 You are spot on! Anything older than Victorian and even Art Deco. I would agree with you, though- probably an Edwardian buckle, hair pin or brooch. I think it would looks more Art Deco, maybe when the Depression would be greatest- people could have had that done by fine jewelry maker and had it plated with gold. Gold is very soft, so it would bend. That looks like a utilitarian piece of jewelry, and it could have helped fasten gowns or fur stoles. A large diamond with that type of filigree work would typically be set in platinum and be surrounded by other smaller diamonds. Hope it’s authentic. Those older diamonds cannot be mined anymore. If a tractor or other trauma were to have befallen upon your bejeweled object, the value would go down, but never sell them. They just increase in value. 🥰 I think you have a nice voice to fall asleep to, John, but this video did not help me. 😅 Every two minutes we got to see something fun. 30:42 That could be Viking or Roman, for sure. It could be a cape brooch or military decoration. Can’t wait for updates!
What a brilliant day. Loved the episode and the history lessons. I’m off to read more about assassination attempts on Queen Victoria now!
Double silver and your not laying down!❤😂 good for you!

Hahaha 🤪 it took some restraint, but I managed to stay away from it. On the basis it wasn’t ‘old’ silver, though at that point I didn’t realise the diamond is real!!

Nice finds...
Well my good Scottish friend I did some computer image processing on your button and you're spot on... By combining a few frames with different incident light, it clearly says Firman & Sons Ld. Warwick St, Regent St. And as you saw London is in the centre. There is also probably a number before Warwick. Brilliant diamond by the way. Easy to test and a good jeweller will give it a grade and colour but it looks amazing. Lovely cut.
You had an AMAZING day! Congrats are due. Simon has to be losing his mind because he's wasn't there this day lol.
Hi John, 1 brilliant carat in a 1000 carrot field. Would be great if it is. As for the round broach it reminds me of a plaid broach/Celtic penanula type. Hope the silvers keep coming for you but either way it's always interesting.
Highly recommend taking the Shiney stone to a jeweler (local is best) who can look at it in their spectrometer. It may not be a diamond (I doubt it is from the prongs and back), but it might be a spinel. It's very pretty. 😊

Jubilee head is nice, plus the other silver with the maybe diamond, makes for a great part two! That field is a treasure chest. 👍👍
Part two was well worth the wait.
Wow! What a day!
Hey John, great video as always, can I ask where you got the plastic pick tool, I have been looking for one for ages. Cheers 😁
The glorious Fields of Perthshire!!!
Thanks to you I'm beginning to know the approximate age of your coins thanks to your history lessons. Being from America I've never been exposed to Scottish and British history. Keep up the great work.
Oh no! Can’t watch until tomorrow - have to go to bed now but I’m sure it’s going to be worth waiting for! 😂
Incredible just isn’t the word for your day and finds, and who needs silver when you can find a 💎 diamond! Lovely item 😍 Was it real? Still can’t believe how many coins you find and always enjoy a good bag seal. I’ve got to get back to the Jethro, I tried it a few times but the higher sensitivity seems to wear the battery down quick and the coil, do you find that? Thanks for a great video John 🙏👏👏👏

Thanks Alan
It's easy enough for a jeweller to check if it's a diamond or not. There are special probes these days that measure the conductivity. It certainly looks well cut with high dispersion ( sparkly), so here's hoping.
Great day! I would get the brooch tested maybe the museum would help out. But as you say the setting is not indicative of a Diamond the stone settings are usually open backed. The Lump of lead may be a plumb bob, for leveling it would have had a loop inserted which may have rotted/ rusted away, maybe marked with an owners initial, or E for engineers. The circular brooch could be a plaid brooch for a womans dress plaid rather than a heavy duty plaid. All things Scottish were popular in Victorian times.
Only in Scotland can you cure a cold with alcohol haha! well done on the finds! That diamond looks amazing!
You are a lucky guy 😃
All you needed was Simon with ye to find a few golf balls to make this day well rounded! Well, you can't have everything! LOL. Well done John!
Have you checked the weight of the lead weight? Also you could try a soft pencil rubbing over the round thing to see design. Great show.
Brilliant
This is the remaining silver coins... 😂
I think 31:13 is an annular buckle, John, also take a look at 39:13 and it may be my imagination, but I see purposely incised eyes above the top, line, with a face below. I've stared at it for some time now and almost convinced myself that under the bottom line, there's a grinning character with a serious bearded man below and a bear about to bite his outstretched arm, while at the base, there's either a devil monkey dragon with a three fang grimace, or a lion with advanced gum disease. Probably not, but FLO will know, eh? The Peace Havens Project can possibly tell you the name of the guy who pressed the seal at 39:44 Rock on.
Hey John, thanks for sharing your cracking good session. I have a quick question. On copper coins or suchlike that are pretty toasty, would sprinkling or dusting a little corn starch (body powder) on it help bring out the detail? That way when you try the bendy thumb on them, it has more contrast than brown dirt on a brownish coin? Sorry if it's a dumb idea, I am a noob to metal detecting.
18:53 jewelry piece- Costume jewelry as the stones are glued in. The middle back looks like it was welded to something like a belt or haircomb.
Need a quick follow-up on that possible diamond(fingerscrossedfor you), what an awesome day 🎉hi again from down under
I think I would have had a heart attack pulling that diamond out of the ground! And reading the comments I see you say it is real! Holy cow!
Hey Mate 👋🏻 You should go to a Jewelery shop and get the Stone tested! If it's that clear and shiny after that long time in the Ground, it can't be a cheap costume stuff 👏🏻🍀🍻
I did a little research and the coin at 35:00 looks like a 1835 British-East India one quarter Anna. It may be a half Anna as well. You can just barely make out the date at the bottom center and the two lions like you noticed. The swirls right above the date also match up. On the other side, you can barely make out part of the wreath in the top right. I'm almost certain this is what you found.
Hello John like always great video. The pendant with nobly ,is a pin with a pearl.
I am at the small island Madeira close to Portugal for vacation and came a cross an English man who also knew your videos and also metal detect what are the chances! Keep it up! 💪❤️ Greetz from Madeira, Netherlands 💪
I was thinking the Stone could be a white sapphire, however your jeweler will let you know. Beautiful find👍
Must be nice to wear a jacket. Roasting in Florida!
I just grabbed some snacks, let’s go “Jethro” program. It’s so wild thinking that these Roman and pre Roman coins are just lying about with the straw & carrots 🥕. The history you give us along the hunt is awesome because it’s not filtered by America and probably more accurate than what I was taught.
GREAT VIDEO jOHN. Please let us know if it is a real diamond.
Awesome buddy, watching this now

Part 2! Yay! Silver coins, jewelry, special dig indeed! Congrats!
All you have to do is take the pin to a jeweler. S/he can test that beautiful piece in the middle for diamond, and perhaps can tell you a lot about it.
Good
Excellent results and a really good second half John, that field is like a money pit and I’m hoping for your sake that the stones in the brooch are real please let us know.
One way to check and see if it’s a diamond is to look at it under 10x-30x magnification and see if you can see any black inclusions in it if so it’s a diamond I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be a white sapphire great 2nd half of a day comgrats and thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
The penny can be an 1890 Young Head. The veiled head did not appear on pennies until 1895.
Thanks for the video. Nice silver. The gemstones could be CZ's if they are not diamonds. The penny could be from the Netherlands. Alot of their coins have a large shield topped by a crown with a lion on each side.👍🏻
35:42 Google Image says this about your coin: “This is a Spanish Eight Reales coin, also known as a "piece of eight," minted in Potosí, Bolivia in 1677. It's called a "bird" coin due to the depiction of a two-headed eagle on one side. These coins were widely used in the Americas and even accepted as legal tender in the early United States.”
Be interesting if you update us on the brooch/ hairclasp Jock. Hopefully it is diamonds in it 👍👍

I believe the mystery coin with the lions is an East India Company coin. Cannot make out more details, but it looked like it was from the 1800's.
The diamond broch looks to be around 1920s either take it to your local jewler or buy a good tester online....
