Double Lowkick | Kyokushin Low Kick | Karate for MMA.

Double the lowkick, double the fun.
Double up the Mawashi Geri Gedan, as its called in karate.
We are breaking down the double lowkick. Lead leg inside lowkick to the rear leg finisher is a common kyokushin karate low kick tactic. Often used to tenderize the inside of the opponents leg, then come swinging in with the rear leg.
It hurts, its unexpected and its effective!
Try it out for yourself!
Thank you to Bulldog Training Center for letting me use the facility!

    Any suggestions on how to help my students (mostly with point karate backgrounds) to sink their shots and kick through the pad? I see many of them automatically snapping their low kicks, as they would a point-fighting jodan mawashi.

    That is why it is of the most importance for kyokushin karatekas to strengthen their thigh and shin beyond human level. Great kicking techniques by the way!

    hard low kicks in kyokushin come the best on still position(where you stand) or slide not step for it, all kyokushin strikes come the best on this 2 types only, other than that honestly not really good.

    This technique is terriblefor kickboxing or MMA! If you are in the same stance, it is very easy to counter with cross! If you don't cover yours lowkick with hands it is so easy to counter, and especially inside lowkick! Typical Kyokushin only attack and zero defense!

  • @NeroMMA

    @NeroMMA

    Well yes, of course you need to set it up. That goes for 99% of kicks.

    @@NeroMMA I will have to disagree with that... front kicks, side kicks, even roundhouse kick which strike higher (because your hands are preoccupied with defense) you can throw without too much set up... but a lowkick, you're just asking for trouble... and especially insaid lowkick! Trust me i learned it the hard way :)

  • @NeroMMA

    @@NeroMMA stop making strawman argument.... I never said that.... I'm just telling you that you can think about attack and defense at the same time! And especially for this technique, any competent fighter can easily counter this with cross... you have to occupy the opponent's hands before throwing. And i was droppedat in sparring because of that (naked inside lowkick)!!!! Smart people learn from other people's mistakes stupid from their own - your choice
