    KM move is a great way to get into position where you have 2 cards face up. Toss a face up signed card on top of the face down deck, do a KM move and you’ll end with two cards face up (you have to pull off the signed card for a second and replace it. Usually under the guise of rubbing a signature to make sure it’s dry. So it can be another way to get ready for an ambitious card replacement (rather than flipping one card on your leg while their signing the card). Hope that makes sense.

    I have been using this for years and never knew what it was called. I use it to show a single card then to get a double on 2 face up cards what i like to do with it is put a single card face up on top of the deck do the move with the top 2 cards. (so when you do it the 2nd card is face up) then do a wrist kill so they cant see the face up card. Then put the 1st card on top of it with out flashing the second one. so pretty much you set your self up to flip both of them over and you can do what ever you want weather you just want to switch out the top and 2nd card or to continue with your ambitious card.

    HOW DO YOU DO SUCH A GOOD DOUBLE LIFT?

  • @jackofallspades98
    @jackofallspades989 жыл бұрын

    After watching the performance, I do have some concerns. I'm sure you have tested this in performances thoroughly, but I think it still looks a bit too obvious, especially if they have already spotted the double lift. This means the spectator will now be watching more closely, and will likely spot this KM move as well. My other concern is, even if you were able to execute the KM move without being noticed, presumably, the trick cannot continue without the double lift you were trying to do in the first place. How do you go from this move into collecting the double without them noticing? And what do you do about the fact that the top two cards are in reverse order now? You obviously can't do it the same way, because they saw the first time. Maybe I'm just overthinking because my mind is trained to see moves like this, but I was hoping you could address these concerns.

  • @bobcosby9645

    @bobcosby9645

    9 жыл бұрын

    When they call you out they will most likely look you in the eye giving you time for the KM move, after the move they will only see one card which confuses them so they won't insist that you turned over 2 cards... that is unless you the two cards really badly separated in which case you didn't practice the your double enough

  • @bobcosby9645

    @bobcosby9645

    You can also always turn the card ditched card back over on the deck with you hip or leg while you show the spectators the single card

  • @ReputableSubterfuge

    jackofallspades98 You're on track. This move is more to be used to clean up a DL when it is no longer needed. I wouldn't necessarily use this if someone calls out a double lift, in which case I would just keep moving as if I didn't hear it. You can use this move to create even more impossible and clean effects. Say you did a tilt and double lift to make it look like the card jumped to the top. To clean it up and let them examine, you can use the KM.

  • @jackofallspades98

    Reputable Subterfuge Thank you for the nice comment. I think that would probably be the best application for this trick.

  • @52kards

    @52kards

    9 жыл бұрын

    jackofallspades98 Ideally, this move is executed at a time when neither you or your audience is looking directly at the deck. As with many sleights, a little misdirection goes a long way. If you're using this to recover from a bad DL, it might be best to change directions and do a different trick, or use a different sleight to switch out the card (such as the top change). Cleaning up a double lift is just one example application for this move, it can also be used to secretly reverse the second card from the top (do the move with a face down double).

    Heres a question for you Asad. Once you do the KM move successfully, then what? Do you just cut the cards and say "Alright now that I proved theres only one, heres what I was going to show you?" I don't think you could just continue with the original trick with on of the double lift cards facing down and the other one facing up.

  • @52kards

    @52kards

    9 жыл бұрын

    jerrypresley1234 There's a few options. You could transition into a different trick that does not require a double, or you can use a top change to achieve the same thing the double would have, or you can regain a face up double after a bit of time by secretly reversing the top card of the deck against the side of your body.

    So what about if the card revealed is the spectators card and you were about to place the card behind in the deck (to fool the spectator), and now youre stuck with the spectators card in your hand? Because if a spectator is aware of a double lift he/she obviously knows some magic, so it would be hard to fool them again. Hope someone understands what I mean.
