Double Dumpster Dive - Scrap Bin Salvage - Trash To Treasure - ASMR Metal Melting -BigStackD Casting

Ойын-сауық

G’day again guys how is everyone this week? I hope everyone is happy and healthy and enjoys today’s giveaway video. Today I dumpster dive twice and find a nice light casing and a heap of brass pieces where I make up One of my best Aluminium bars to date as well as a few Very Over Sized Pirate coins and a nice little skull for the giveaway(SORRY GIVEAWAY CLOSED hit the bell so you don’t miss the next one) so sit back enjoy. But most importantly have a great weekend. Now I’ve only said this a couple times before but if you feel like supporting the channel you simply can just by allowing the ads to play through this will help out a lot and that’s how I make a bit extra revenue but the good thing is more revenue means more giveaways👊🏻😄. Another way to support the channel is play one of my playlists on your computer before you walk away from it and let it play through that really helps as well but don’t ever feel as though you need to watch the ads if you don’t want to simply skip them and move into the video it’s completely up to you and I understand if you don’t have the time to do so👌🏻and like I always say if you like the rings shown and used in this video be sure to check out the description where you can get 20% off the already discounted rings using my code and if you want to try your hand at melting yourself you can buy the burner on its own or the whole furnace set up and I can organise a 5% link for you off the total furnace price just email me on bigstackddddd@mail.com 😁👍🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.
****************************************************
STEEL FOR MY FRIEND
I keep all my steel and cast iron pieces and I give them to my friend and once he gets about a tonne from me and his own collecting he takes that to the scrapyard and sells it then he buys some beer and comes over to my house and we make a night of it.
No My friend doesn’t have a KZread channel he just scraps metal in his spare time.

Like I always say I hope you are all well and have had a great week . Today’s video I do 2 dumpster dives where I get some stuff for me and some for the giveaway, I get a very old dodgy looking light casing that you would never even look twice at it and turn it into one of my best bars yet. Then in another bin I find some brass pieces which I make into two great oversize pirate coins for the giveaway and I’ll also be including the skull i poured as well as their choice in one of the three Tin coins shown in the video. To enter you don’t need to jump through hoops like other channels you just simply need to leave 1 comment on this video it’s a simple as that, you can leave more than 1 comment if you like but it’s still only 1 entry for each person 👍🏻. A lot of people have been asking how they can support the channel as I don’t have patreon or merch sorted yet so if you wish you can simply do that by allowing the ads to Play through or easily let One of my playlists play on your computer when you’re away from it , that’s how the channel makes revenue and more revenue means more giveaways😁. Anyway guys enough of my short novel I hope you all have an absolutely awesome weekend and I’ll see you all next Friday for another melt whatever that may be🤔 thank you my sensational subs😁👋🏻

I really liked the tin heart! Also, I really like these bars and coins, but maybe i have some ideas about future videos. 1. 3D print some unusual shapes (like torus, reuleaux triangle, hyperboloid, rhombicosidodecahedron etc) and cast them with different metals 2. create some simple mechanical machines 3. 3D model and 3D print one of the dogs and cast it. It is kind of difficult but a statue of your dogs would be amazing!

Not sure if this has been answered before but how many uses does a crucible last? Thanks for any answers! Hope everyone has a great day!

wild_wolf44 it depends on what crucible you use. A graphite one would normally last you about 100 heats for aluminium and maybe about 50 for brass. Hope this was helpful :)

How long a crucible lasts depends on a variety of factors. The quality and material it is made of. The type of metals melted and how corrosive they are when liquid and the temperature reached in making them liquid. The number of heating cycles.

Its possible the type of gass used to heat would also play a factor. Titanium is melted in a vacuum. Though i dont know what type of crucible is used.

RuneChaos1.01 usually a clay graphite hybrid is used. This prevents the carbon based graphite from oxidising under the expelled chemicals when burning iron, brass and copper.
