It's not easy, but it might help. Hitting x on a flyer should bring them to a halt in the air.

You have to defeat a Prime or Ultimate dino (can remember which). If you find something like an Tiranmomyrma they have low enough health to defeat

I probably cheesed my first prime, Apex or ultimate. I would dangle from a tree or rock and use the boomerang, spear or whip to have some distance.

Once a few months ago I shot a wild dino with that ball gun cause I wanted to try to agro it and instead it trapped it and that's how I accidentally cheesed a high level rock elemental lol

Any advise best way to harvest soul and essence?

There is no taming in the wild? All summon the fast way and no using the tames to advance

No you can still take in the wild and I have to now because I am out of souls. But if you have the souls for it summoning is the best way!
