Double Bass Does Bach | Play Me An Excerpt | Joseph Conyers
Hey musicians! Today we head back to Bach, with double bassist Daniel playing an excellent rendition of the Badinerie (mvmt 7) from Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor.
This is such a famous piece (even for non musicians- everyone's heard the ringtone!) so we get to discuss how important it is to really be aware of your fellow musicians, and how the phrasing should always be informed by what's happening with the whole of the orchestra- not just what's on your page!

watching this video i was expecting you to have a 2m+ sub channel with thousands of comments but when i scroll down to comments there were only 4 and then i saw this was posted 2 years ago and i just had to say I am such a big fan of the way you present the video and teaching, i saw maybe 7 cuts over the whole video and i love how you say these off the top of your head like a true teacher

it does have things in common: especially the arpeggio. Bach certainly influenced MK's composer for the Temple's theme. Bach is so baddass --- even for the bass.
