I am sure that a lot of people will learn to clear areas and scout with illusions etc. Gem on naga will be devastating to him. However a last picked techies will probably dominate as nobody will have picked a well needed counter.

Volthoom I'm not entirely certain that it was Blizzard "not recognizing DotA potential at [the] time", I read that they had said that they wanted DotA to be made by the players, for the players and thus not be 'privatized', if you will. I could be wrong though.

so a hero with little to no counterplay at all when he works well, and an easily avaible counter that renders 3 of his 4 abilites mute.

there's loads of counterplay. Techies can stall the midgame, but they can't win the lategame without a good carry on the team. A carry with bkb and 30 armor breaching the choke point is something, techies can't deal with. The mines do composite damage, so with high armor, you shrug them off and remotes don't pierce bkb. Another way to deal with techies can be seen right in the CURRENT META. 5man deathball pushes right from the beginning screw techies over, because they don't have the mana base to stall out the siege of an otherwise doomed tower at that point of the game. There's 2 things, you shouldn't do against techies: 1) run around the map like an idiot 2) death ball up a choke or into a tower without any true sight

Techie's landmines deal composite damage, which means the damage is reduced by Armor and Magic resistance, adding that with, as others have mentioned, Blade Mail is an amazing way to counter and kill Techies. However, if you really want to counter Techies, pick a ranged hero with a Gem or, again, Zeus.

Saying techies is OP is like saying riki is OP... There are some heroes/items that can counter him.

Changes to Techies have been made since this video was released. This list will contain those changes (not including number changes, since they are very frequent) Land Mines have been replaced with Proximity Mines. Proximity Mines: Plants a mine which deal 225/400/575/750 to any enemy caught within the explosion radius. These mines explode when you have stood within the blast radius for 1.6 seconds. These mines are invisible most of the time, however if any hero comes within a 400 radius of the mine it will become visible and killable. The mines have 1 health. You can't put one Proximity Mine next to another. Statis Trap: Now roots the enemy instead of stunning (he can still cast spells and turn, but can't attack or move). No longer has a detonation delay, and will explode as soon as the activation delay is done and there is a hero within the radius. Suicide Squad, Attack! has been replaced with Blast Off. Blast Off: After charging the spell for 1 second, techies will launch towards the targeted area, exploding when he lands. The explosion deals 300/400/500/600 damage to heroes in the area and silences them for 4/5/6/7 seconds. Techies will also take 50% of his health as damage from the explosion. Techies can deny himself with this ability. Aghanim's Scepter: No longer increases damage radius (but still increases damage and cast range). Now also upgrades Minefield Sign. This ability wasn't mentioned in the video since it did nothing at the time. Without Aghanim's Scepter it will place a sign which does absolutely nothing but confuse the enemy. With Aghanim's Scepter it will make all mines in a 125 radius around it immune to true sight. The sign lasts 180 seconds and has a 360 second cooldown. Take note that the mines and suicide both deal composite damage. While this does go through magic immunity, it is also reduced by both magic resistance and armor, thus they will deal significantly less damage to heroes than is listed on the tooltip (and even less as the game goes on and people get more armor).

It only took 7 years, but Techies has finally been succesfully removed from the game

To be honest, i don't really know how Techies will work in DOTA2. But my point is that in DOTA blademail work with shadow shaman's, , WD's and Venomancer's wards. BUT it don't in DOTA2.

Techies look like the stupidest hero in the game. 3/4 abilities are countered by true sight, I swear on my grave if someone picks Techies on my team then I'm picking Riki to encourage True Sight buying.

Read above, and also, except for Stasis Trap, the bombs can still be effective - still deal damage. If you are unable to work your way out of such situations, then you're not using your head correctly. :D

he can just either force staff you or eul up combo with static traps stun for 6 secs and plant 1 mine + 1 ulti detonate if need suicide (fun + troll combo in dota 1)

well dota 1 was out for awhile and did just fine even with Techies... what happend was that Techies was introduced and meta had to be built around it... in the end gem and Rubick+Zeus (a strat already used vs Riki) was very effective and the good Techie players came out of the wood work and dam did they have good bomb placement.

Question? How do you gonna get in the smaller radius of the first mines? isnt it exploding at the first chance?

As you can see that techies's remote mine icon has a troll face in it

Static Trap tip: -By having more than one ST in stun area destroys all others, but place second ST 1 second after first one stuns target, enemy cannot move out and you get to double stun duration! -While it takes 2 seconds for ST to stun target(s), fast attacking melee hero can take out ST before it goes off.

A new hero! Meaning he's going to be: >Instant picked every game for the first month >90% will be tryhard noobs who will feed >10% will be DotA veterans who will rape
