There was a time when everyone just rushed basilus on mid because it was +8 damage and 1.5 (or maybe 2, not sure) free armor + a bit of mana regen. That was truly insane item

Yeah, I remember something like this. Though mostly I remember basilius when it was tier 1 support item for it's majestic 1.4 mana regen aura for 375 gold. Basic math and you get 0,8 mana regen for 150 gold (recipe) while another sage's mask would cost you 225 gold and grant only 0,6 mana regen for just you. 75 gold and 0,2 of pure profit may seem minor, but it was almost god-item as how much it helped on saving money for clarities on pos5's. It was that OP as OP was magic wand earlier. You buy just magic stick, get some charges, and then upgrade it to wand. Great stats and magic wand used to restore more hp/mana from charges than just a magic stick. Now that value is equal to nerf them a bit.

I enter each video each time I get a notification, search in miniature preview the exact moment Philip says '.. and, I mean you've watched a good amount of it at this point...', like the video and leave without having watched a good amount of it. And the best part is I add the video to watch later, so to watch before sleeping, and I skip the already seen bit.

Hi Baumi, I just wanted to say thanks to you for the great an entertaining content. I was recently hospitalised because I broke 3 bones in my ankle and your videos have been a great comfort to me. I also found out painkillers don’t work on me at all but can escape my world of pain for an hour whilst watching your great content. I will likely never play dota but really enjoy watching you play and the fun you have with it. Keep up the good work and I hope to join a stream one day and say hi. In a really rough time for me physically and mentally your videos have meant more than you can know and I wanted to tell you that

@Baumi I watch your videos at 1.5x speed, mostly because I have been watching your videos since 2014 and I can easily follow along with your videos at that speed. I generally only speed up series and movies if I am rewatching, but usually only up to 1.3 max but often at 1.1. with 1.1 it's imperceptibly faster but it is about 10% shorter, so a 20 episode season you get to watch it in the time it takes for 18 episodes.

i always watch baumi’s videos with 1.75x or 2x speed for more than 4 years everyday and any video that longer than 10 mins i always speed it up. i even used to baumi 2x talking speed and when i set it back to normal speed it always feel too slow for me.

I totally speed up music when I listen to it, same as with videos. It's not really about time, though, playing videos at 2x speed just means that I can watch twice as many.

For me, double speed is for youtube videos, normal speed is for movies, TV shows, music etc.

I have started seriously thinking about buying you money personally for ideas for dota content, because hearing you casually giving acctual good ideas in your videos give me the feeling that you've got even better ideas, but you have no time to work on them.

re: watch back speed / play back speed. Fun fact: music is often played / played back, at a higher speed / frequency than it is written / recorded, so it sounds more exciting, energetic, whatever. I certainly don't see many people complain that's not true to the intention of the composer / performer. I guess these things can be viewed as art or product. The former seems to have a lot of baggage associated with it: with all all of a sudden you need to appreciate it properly and give both it and the artist respect etc. The latter is a lot more straight forward: the product is put out there, you can do whatever.

I watch things on 2x most of the time but slow things down when it feels like I'm missing something or the pacing feels weird. Most content feels slow at 1x (mainly youtube videos where I just want information), so I don't feel bad about it. If I'm ever trying to criticize content though 1.5x is my default, since it's easy to miss subtle things on 2x.

I do watch videos speed up, usually 1.25 or 1.5 times speed. I do however do this only with videos and series that I watch regularly or where it doesn't feel like a lot of effort has been put into it.

While I'm here the one who has never seen a yt video on normal speed, if I hear Baumi voice outside 2x sounds so awkward and slow lol

Phew, I felt bad there for a second for always watching your videos at double speed. But it's actually quite interesting: because I'm actually used to all the youtubers at 2x speed, so the few times where I caught you on twitch (or someone else). I was actually extremely disoriented by how "slowly" you speak.

I cant watch videos in normal speed anymore. I found out its a f** bless for ppl with some sort of ADHD like me. Interesting fact, english is not my native language and I can watch most videos in ENG in 2X speed, but I can only understand Portuguese im 1.5x.

Its weird how youtube does it to people but the only form of media I consume at 2x speed is youtube videos of streamers like you and all of the sc2 youtube channels or video game related stuff but always watch any thing else at the normal speed. Like I listen to audiobooks, podcasts, tv shows and movies at 1x but youtube make you want to just waste time faster.

I think saying no criticism at all can be said is maybe a bit of an overreach. Like, you can still criticize the lyrics of a song even at 2x speed because the lyrics aren't tied to the speed of the thing.

By that logic people should lose the right to critique a work if they get distracted in the middle of it too? Do you think that plot/music/pacing becomes incomprehensible when its on 1.5 speed or something? Very weird take i must say
