Thank you for this! I built your brooder and it worked great! And now I’m fermenting my feed like you showed in the last video. I’m glad you shared this because my chicks are still in grower stage so I’m happy they’ll get used to the fermented feed before they start laying. I’ll use this information to introduce other feeds too, like greens. Thank you!

@@armandtiodsock2527 hi. I experimented with the mash feed I use and it was okay, but the high protein content wasn’t ideal. It’s way better to ferment a grain heavy feed or even the maize germ or wheat separately. I also added molasses and that really helped. I am back to using dry feed because of the feeders I use. They keep the feed clean but they make it difficult to use wet feed. I hope this helped 😊

It’s not a good practice to toil with layers already in production. They are sensitive to any change in diet/ nutrition

It will bulk the feed, therefore less feed...lost feed volume is compensated because fermentation makes the feed highly digestable and efficient.

Don't know so much about saving a bunch of money or feeding less. A lot of that depends on the grains you're using. The birds do very well on it if you're using the right grains. Fermenting burns some of the carbs up which is good in most cases but more importantly nutrition is released that can't be digested by the birds or humans if it's not fermented or sprouted. Nature designed the seeds that way so they can be distributed and propagated.

I switched from commercial feed to fermented grains and my egg production went from 10 to 3 a day. I got 8 yesterday so I'm hoping we'll be going back up soon.
