I grew up watching Dorothy Paul, My Grandmother & Mother were big fans of hers. I was lucky enough to meet her backstage after her show a few years ago. She was the nicest person you could meet, very down to earth and a real Superstar and Legend, I will never forget meeting her!

I am reading Dorothy Paul's book at the moment and she is marvelous, the things she talks about I remember my mum talking about when we were younger ...a wonderful lady and her shows are magic.

lilysmumkate I read it years ago, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I lived in the States, and my cousin used to send me tapes of her shows, and every Hogmanay, I would watch The Steamie! Brilliant!

i,m from the same suburb of Glasgow as Dorothy (Dennistoun) and i left when i was 30..13 years ago. in one of her shows she talks abt her father taking her along Duke Street...getting a big pile of comics from the comic shop then to the Rendez Vous Cafe for ice cream....my Dad did exactly the same thing for me. i met her in a Co op in Edinburgh once and told her about this..there we were standing in a Co op aisle...both in bits! :))) Whit a Wummin! I met Dorothy Paul in Murdock Park about twenty years ago, while I was walking my dog. I didn’t want to disturb her peaceful walk by saying I recognised her, so we meandered round the park. She was so friendly and well spoken that I think we both enjoyed the banter and the serious chat too. When the time came to part, she said it had been a lovely walk, and she hoped we would meet again. Then it slipped out when I said it was a pleasure, Miss Paul. Quick asa flash she retorted oh I was not talking to you.I was talking to the dog ! Lovely lady.,
