Tolles Video.

Hi I'm not German so I was wondering if someone can explain to me who understand German how was she getting the horse soft and round over the back so he comes on the bit what aids did she use with her legs and hands to get the horse round and down stretching on the bit? Thanks

Hi! Well, she is usually using the warm up walk to already straighten the horses, which results in better contact. For her it is vital to find the individual tempo for every horse, for then it can swing through the body to the hand, which in turn creates once again better contact as well as relaxed and well-working back muscles. This particular horse is hollow to the left and a bit stiff to the right, so she makes sure to straighten on the left hand, while on the right hand straightening is also important, but focus is to bend this horse around her inside leg, in an effort to relax the rip area that then helps with an easier and more natural flexing on the inside rein, too. Trot-canter helps her to work the horse over the back even more. Important is here that the horse stays between both reins, which helps then to get the transition back to trot straight and enough on the hind-leg. Dorothee likes to utilise the two-point seat to get a better flow through the whole body of the horse. The result is a happy and relaxed horse that is motivated and able to stay between both legs and reins. She then proceeds to use shoulder-in and half-passes for strength and straightening. In the canter she works on improving the rhythm, using tempo changes within the gait. Hope this is what you were looking for:)
