Dorito of Death indeed, perhaps the most surprising part of this craft is how potent it can be at aerial combat with a combination of stealth and LAAMs allowing safe long-range attacks, a unique feature to this craft! I definitely agree that this one is the real star of this aircraft set.

That's certainly the big claim to fame I'm envisioning for this craft in MP; basically becoming an actually viable plane with the LAAM combined with stealth. Before this I think the closest you got was HVAA YF-23. And now this monstrosity is in the game... Yeesh. This thing is gonna be an evil sniper in MP. Especially if friendlies get cheeky with ESM.

Tuga you god damn monster. That missile evasion at 6:53 was stone cold.

"Dorito of death" and "F-117 on steroids" is an apt term for this aircraft. Lockheed Martin FB-22 Strike Raptor - a concept version of the F-22A fighter as a medium-range bomber. Delta wings provide it with great maneuverability. It can be said that the FB-22 is the answer to the Su-34. Ultimately, the FB-22 did not reach the prototype stage and could not show its combat potential. He was the planned successor to both the F-15E and the F-117. The Strike Raptor is known to attack the city of November in Ace Combat 5, where "Proteus" flew it. The skins are the standard camouflage for the F-22A, the gray-green camouflage of the Avro Vulcan bomber, "Proteus", and the "Flash" skin of the F-22A. Special armaments are the CBU-87 cluster bombs, the GBU-39 precision bombs and a new type of long-range air-to-air missile. It is probably an unrealized version of the AIM-120E FMRAAM with a ramjet engine. One thing is for sure: since the F-22A is an enforcer who will unnoticeably come to the house and break the door, the Strike Raptor will do it from a much greater distance.

This thing is possibly the best aircarft I purchased. Thing is such a jack of all trades does everything extremely well.

The return of the Flash skin

The Dorito of Death should have come with LACM’s instead of XSDB’s. The F-22 already carries XSDB’s, making the FB-22 carrying them redundant, and AC7 really needs a top-performance plane carrying the best air-to-ground weapon in the game instead of just the Rafale and Griphen.

I wonder if that's a balance option - and if so, I kinda support it, the FB-22 is extremely powerful as is. Still, those LACMs are massive, they'd have to be carried externally.

@@TugaAvenger Aside from the X-02, there’s no American-made top-level plane in AC7 that has a long-range air-to-ground missile, so the FB-22 could have filled that gap by at least carrying LASM’s. But if it did carry LACM’s, they could be modeled after the AGM-158 JASSM, which is a low-observable cruise missile that the FB-22 could carry externally and conceptionally remain stealthy (like how the F-22 carries stealth missile pods). And again, the F-22 already carries the XSDB’s, and personally I find the cluster bomb to have very limited use. In fact, one thing I don’t like about AC7 is (at least in campaign mode) there’s way too many special weapons, over half of which aren’t very useful, and the ones that are useful are carried by lower-level planes (such as the LACM) or planes that don’t match well (such as the only high-level planes carrying the UGB being the Su-47 and YF-23). Then there’s the Su-57 with Pulse Lasers, which is overpowers every other plane in the game, so there’s not a whole lot of balance in the first place.

There is a glitch... No hardpoints for 4AAM on the F-16XL. They are literally embedded into the Wing. Haven't flown them yet. Sure they're fine, just looks incorrect.

not a glitch, the IRL F-16XL has semi recessed hardpoints for the AIM-120

I still have some testing to do, but so far I think this is another great package of planes, but I also think the OAS DLC was definitely superior. I really like the F/B-22 and especially the F-15S/MTD, but I was hoping they would have some more unique flight models, like the Nosferatu and the Shinden did brilliantly a few months ago.

It's a million laughs... And sadly the closest thing to a bomber that I'll get in AC7

For a good while, I thought Ace Combat 3's F/A-32C Erne was based on this, before I realised it was actually the X-32 JSF.

If Namco is ok with "paper planes" that doesn't even have a prototype, I really want to see the NATF F-22N, X-44 Menta, Super Tomcat 21, XF-108 Rapier, and A-12 Avenger someday :3 .

The FB-22 mostly gets a pass because it is a modern attacker, which is pretty rare. They're a dying breed.

The Cluster Bombs are just superior to the SDBs.

One thing I always lamented is that it's always the second gen FB-22 that's added to the games, and not the first gen, which was literally a giant F-22. I know that doesn't really give much visual variety, but c'mon, who wouldn't want to fly a plane that looks like an F-22 in steroids?
