No one today comes close to DORIS DAY. I actually cried when she passed away. I never knew she had grandchildren. So happy she did.

Doris only had 1 grandson. Sadly, they never connected. 😔 Had no relationship.

Her voice was absolutely perfect, Watching her now on Utube has awoken my happy memories of her. To me she was the most human human being ever, never had an enemy and her love and devotion to Rock Hudson was to say the least was heart warming and her selfless love of animals above all was tremendous. I am happy to say I have a great selection of her music records and CDs. Being a BRIT I was never possible to ever see her in person but as a teenager I had a teenage crush on her, like so many others of my generation. THANK YOU DORIS, You now still, make a very old man happy when I play your music. I AM STILL SCOURING UTUBE for as many episodes of your career Thank you HOWARD for bringing this episode forward. RIP DORIS , ............

I grew up watching all the Doris Day movies, her TV show and listened to all her music and still do. She was true to herself and all her fans. Keep singing Doris, heaven is smiling.

My 1 minute of fame with Doris Day. In 1976 I worked in the sales department for the magazine and paperback book wholesaler of Los Angeles: Sunset News, later ARA services. Occasionally, celebrities would stop by with their agent, after getting their “tell all” biographies published. “Doris Day: Her Own Story” was just out and she and her agent came by for a promotional effort. After her agent spoke, he opened up the floor for any questions by the sales staff and execs. I was upset that no one, including myself, asked any questions or had any comments. I think most were awestruck and shy at her celebrity status and presence. The agent said something like…”Well ok, get in a line and Ms. Day will autograph a copy of her book for you.” Since I was so disappointed at our silence, I got at the end of the line, thinking that I could ask or say something to her. When it was my turn..I asked her, “Do you have any desire to get back into films?” She stopped signing her autograph on my copy and looked right into my eyes and said, “No when I was doing the movies, I was always asking questions like…’ Did I say that line right? Do I look ok? Is my makeup on right?’ It was always I, I, I. Now I have a chance to do something for others.” I understood what she meant and just said..”Good” 35 years later, I wrote to her and mentioned our meeting and what you just read of our words to each other. She replied by sending, to me, an autographed color picture of herself. I first saw her on TV in “Calamity Jane” and would play “Secret Love” on my mom’s piano. I was about 12 years old then.

These t.v. appearances were viewed in 1985 when Doris was promoting her new cable series about animals, "Doris Day's Best Friends." The shows were: "The Start of Something Big," a scene from "Best Friends," and the syndicated series, "Entertainment This Week."

don't like the looks of the lion's "retirement home"....a cage. perhaps in his case, time to find a lion sanctuary, i.e., the Lion Whisperer or Kim Basinger's PAWS in Calif. which provides roaming acres for animals like elephants and lions.

Rock Hudson was gay: however, he repented in prayer to Jesus hours before his death. He was with Pat Boone. Nobody can make Heaven without Jesus for HE is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! We still have wonderful Doris Day. She is a real Christian lady! God has richly blessed lives thru these two dear people. Nobody can ever replace them. COME, LORD JESUS!
