Doris Day was a rare talent, and one of the most genuinely gifted entertainers of the 20th century.
It’s so nice to hear an actress talk about her career in such a positive way. She was adorable...

Doris Day is a real treasure. A singer with a beautiful voice, an incredible dancer with great legs, a strong dramatic actress who was versatile enough to have a great comic timing. As a woman she was intelligent, kind, good hearted, grateful and beautiful.
I’ve been a lifelong Doris Day fan and hearing her reflecting on her film career was a treat!
I adore this woman. Always had. Doris Day had that 'magic' and personality that came off of the screen. It was a gift she was given. No acting school can teach it to you. You either have it or you don't. It's as simple as that. Doris left the movies & TV early, but strangly her popularity never waned. I love her laugh in this . God bless the soul of this Dear Woman and may she rest in Peace. Amen.
I wish we could see her during this interview. It's hard to believe that this is the voice from a 90-year-old woman! Her speaking voice changed very little. Just like everyone who ages it only goes a little bit lower. Anyone could still recognize the voice of Doris Day!!!🤔😱🤗♥️💞❤️
I remember writing a letter to Doris Day back in the early 80's when I was just about ready to graduate from High School telling her how much I loved her and her movies and she was so very kind and gracious to send me a beautiful autographed photo and a personalized note just for me. I have those in an album and will pull them out from time to time when I want to take a trip down memory lane and they will always have a special place in my heart. Truly a lovely lady!

What a wonderful souvenir !!! That shows how kind and gracious she truly was!!! I loved her and her movies too! I have wished so many times that I would have bought something from her estate sale to have and keep and pull out when I’m needing a pick me up! There were 2 charm brackets up for sale , one was her mother’s and the other one was hers , that’s what I really would love to have gotten, can you imagine!! I would wear it everyday even if it was just around the house!!! 😊 But, to have an autographed picture of her and a personal note would be mighty spectacular !!! Thanks for sharing that information!

Ditto here- I sent a fan letter about the same time (mid 1980's) and received an autographed photo from Doris of her and one of her dogs. Nice to have a memento from her, for sure.

@@slc2466 She always had time for her fans right until the end. I have a photo she sent me in 2017 which she dedicated not just to me but also my dog (who died a few months after Doris). She was amazing!

@@privatedeborah1004 She only stopped a few months before because her doctor ordered her to (due to the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in her hand). Even then, she made an exception to a dementia sufferer in an English care home, who received a signed photo of her a few days before she died. It must have been the last she ever signed and you could tell from the messier handwriting that it must have been quite painful for her to do that. Just an incredibly thoughtful human being right to the end. www.edp24.co.uk/news/doris-day-letter-sent-to-man-with-dementia-1392602
What a treasure to have Doris Day's thoughts and voice recorded while reflecting on her many parts and screen partners. this is the best.
Doris Day's movies are always special, she have this magic to brighten the screen!
Great to hear Doris' reflections on an incredible career. So glad she talks about "It Happened to Jane," a somewhat overlooked comedy wherein she gives a terrific performance, and she really is great with Jack Lemmon.
Doris keeps talking about how she was blessed. Boy, was she! What a phenomenal woman she was. Ultimately, any person who has seen her in action ...well, we are the blessed ones. What a Lady! ❤️ Thank You Doris for all your hard work....it paid off, for sure!! ❤️💐

Doris Day - My favorite female movie star and singer. I wish I could have met her. Truly a inspiration. She reminded me of a female Jimmy Stewart. They both seemed as genuine and caring and wonderful onscreen as off. I have every movie of hers. Whenever I need a pick me up and need a dose of sunshine, I put one of her movies on. She was amazing. I only wish she had a gravesite to be able to go and pay your respects at. A wonderful lady, through and through. Judith Mitchell

Totally agree with the Jimmy Stewart comparison. Both very naturalistic actors who made it look so easy, which make their performances seem contemporary even today. A perfect pairing in The Man Who Knew Too Much.

Doris Day always looked so beautiful on the screen. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Beautiful smile. Beautiful figure. Who wouldn't want to be married to her or at least be her best friend.

Truly miss her. Grew up watching her movies and TV show. Rediscovered her music. One of a kind.
Wonderful to see this. Doris Day never disappointed. Acknowledged now as a fine actress, I love her singing voice. Spend a quiet evening and just listen to her songs. It is if she is right there, singing only to you, the listener. Ageless artistry.
Oh! How delightful. Thank you.
Amazing actress and top-notch human being. So happy I have these videos to show my friends and give them insights into the classic era of Hollywood!
Doris...what a life! Well done!
Back in the 1960s my grandpa would drop my 2 girl cousins and me (12- 13 yrs old) off at the local matinee to see a double feature. Remember those with a cartoon in between. Well, I have dark hair and dark eyes. But I did not care I wanted to be beautiful like Miss Day with her lovely smile and infectious laugh. I loved that she was always a moral and positive example. Plus all her lovely matching outfits, shoes, purse and hat. Such happy memories.
Forever a STAR! ⭐️🔥
❤️ Doris Day ❤️ my favorite actress of all time!! I can watch her movies over and over again
Great little interview...with great clips! When Doris Day was in the right role for her talents she really was top notch. Cheers!
Certainly Blessed. What a Star
Thank you for that! That was really lovely. When did she record this? "It Happened to Jane" was the first movie I saw at a drive-in as a child. And I saw most of the rest of her 60s comedies in a theater. She was pure sunshine. Love her. Never tire of watching "Calamity Jane" or "Please Don't Eat the Daisies." And the films with Gordon MacRae are charming. Hitchcock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much" is my favorite dramatic performance.

Down to earth-I know cliche-but you gotta hand it to her when it comes to being humble-love her work.
She had a realism and personality that was so far superior then anyone ever put on screen she just lifts your heart and sprit and made you feel so good
Loved her
I just adore her...I love to hear her giggle...there will never be a more beautiful soul.
When I was a teenager and watched a few of Doris Day’s movies on TV and fell in love, only to be heartbroken when I was told the movies were old and so is she now. Life is so unfair! 🤣
Doris was MAGIC!!!
Probably my favorite female star of all time. Loved her movies and her beautiful voice in all her music! Thanks for posting this! ✌🏻🙂✌🏻
From her very first appearance on film, she was a movie star! ♥
I love Miss Day and miss her. She was awesome in every way. She was so beautiful , talented, loving, kind, gentle and compassionate. I admire her for many reasons but most of all for her devotion to saving animals. I love animals too. She is my favorite female singer and she and Lucille Ball are my heroines. I was blessed having met Lucy but sadly I never met Doris. I will meet her some day in Heaven.
Her singing voice...”It’s Magic!” ❤️
I love this woman and her movies !
Such a remarkable Women! What a voice and such a great actress too.. Sadly missed!
What a legend, have nearly all her movies. My favourite is Young at Heart.😉
An amazing woman who stood up for what she believed in.
One film role she famously turned down was Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate

She was something else. Such a beauty with a beautiful voice and face. GOD doesn't make women like her anymore. No women in Hollywood can even come close to her.
God bless 🙌 🙏 ❤ 💖 ✨ ♥ 🙌 this woman 👩 I miss her dearly and her love ❤ for 🐕
Sorry I did not get to see all of her films, I adored her, I had her Long plays, well, you know I am all now!
It’s a strange irony that for many years the Academy of Motion Pictures wanted to present her with a lifetime achievement Oscar and she always turned them down, can you imagine the audience reaction if she did accept it onstage

What a pretty thing she was! Epitome of the perfect blonde 1950s white woman. All the girls in my mother's era wanted to look like Doris Day. She was a decent and compassionate human being too, working toward animal welfare, and not narcissistic like the diva's of today. A real talent, well loved by co stars and audience. RIP Doris Day. We still love you.

It was a song that was pivotal to the plot and character in Hitchcock film, The Man Who Knew Too Much.
Wow. Her memories of working at Warner Bros. were not how she described them in her auto-biography. In that book, she intimated she most certainly did not enjoy working at WB, and was very glad when her contract with them was finally up. Not I don't know know what to believe.

That`s true but if I remember correctly from her book, she mainly loved the people she worked with at WB like the cast and crew members though she did say she thought some of the scripts were terrible . She also mentioned she did not like some of the songs she recorded during her WB years but enjoyed working with the musicians.
Miss her and all her costars. Obviously, she was really fit and had a great figure, but she was also very witty, down to earth, and was a very underrated singer and comedic actress
Wow when did she do the voice over for this 😕 such a wonder greafull attuide and positive lady and sadly missed 😢

Always wondered whatever became of that gorgeous 1958 Chevy convertible 5:29. Was that done in one take? The car must have been ruined, but was any effort made to dry it out and restore it? That wasn’t a cheap car.
✨🥰✨❤️
Nothing like ego. I love me too.
Now that is a Woman !!!
True the System allowed genius to flower and for that we should all be grateful. All of us! Cause we know now what it means to live in a culturally arid wasteland where bimbos (m and f) dominate as presenters, actors, dancers, singers. Doris Day HERSELF was blessed with an enormity of talent. She could sing, she could dance and as Hitchcock discovered in `Storm Warning` she could act. He cast her in `The Man Who Knew too Much` (the re-make) and she was sensational. Doris enjoys the kind remarks made about her by Jack Lemmon. I interviewed Jack. Don`t like him. DId not interview Doris but she`s nonetheless the centerrpiece of the Alfred Hitchcock Walk that I run in London. www.alfredhitchcockwalk.wordpress.com Doris before she passed mentioned the tour in a couple of Re-Tweets of my own Tweets. PS Jack Carson is one of my fav actors and `Romance on the High Seas` one of my fav films. G-d Bless Dodo. RIP!
This should be labelled as an n advertisement. It’s promoting only films which TCM has an interest In. No reference at all to the films that made her a star.
