    Hi Pedro, I am a Door Dash customer, I work from home and I use it atleast 5 to 10 a week, most orders are from places no more than a 1/2 to 2 miles away. I always give good tips, gift cards during the holidays. I realize it's not easy work, dealing with difficult merchants, the wear and tear on your car, gas prices...etc... I think your giving good tips here in this video , I can't believe some people don't tip, that's ridiculous. Customers should know that your pay from Door Dash is bulls#@t and your tips are so important...keep up the good work and stay safe out there.

    All the space blanket is is a first aid blanket. They are very useful to help keep the temp, and excellent to wrap those pizzas that won't fit in a pizza bag. When I first started back in 2017 I had an order with 8 pizzas and no pizza bag. So I wrapped them in the space blanket and carried them into the customers business like that and it was for a lunch meeting and everyone (x6) in the room pulled cash out and tipped me $5.

  • @EffortlesslyEgypt
    @EffortlesslyEgypt Жыл бұрын

    One thing I’d like to add, as a customer who uses DoorDash quite frequently I like to tip in cash, so that way my dasher gets 100% of it and right away in their pocket. I put this in the instructions part of my order so I know you can’t see that until after you accept it. Since it sounds like you can kind of tell when people are tipping versus not but maybe just be mindful of the people that may do things this way. You never know what kind of order you may be turning down potentially 😊

    If door dash is paying below minimum wage, not requiring tips or increased rate without tips or limits on distance for delivery without tips… then door dash is putting their employees in a situation where they are actually paying to work and deliver ppl their foods etc

  • @anthonypeterson9686

    @anthonypeterson9686

    2 жыл бұрын

    Recently with inflation I have been getting 100% do not disturb porch drop offs with only base rate of pay and distances exceeding triple the dollar per mile ratio at minimum… my issue with this is two fold. One those deliveries take me multiple zones out of my target area, which lowers my rate of assignment and costs me twice over for a return trip that’s unpaid. We need compensation from the ppl ordering who decide they are going to attempt the listing(as like a penalty fee for a service that exceeds the common fairness between customer and employees). Secondly, with gas at 6$/gal and an average of 20 mi per gallon(a fair estimate as many employees are getting less) door dash negatively impacts your experience and rate of pay by penalizing those who frugally choose their customers based on the price point. In essence, door dash is bullying their employees into accepting 25 mi deliveries for a base rate of pay only, which often means getting 3$ for these round trip deliveries. Door dash penalizes you by lowering your acceptance rate score which in turns lower your rate of being assigned orders. They are creating a environment where the more ruthless customers have already learned that they can get away with these types of orders and make us struggling people actually pay in stead for the privilege of delivering food to people who use the app and instead of providing for the poor employee, the benefits solely reside with door dash for being known as the app that gets away with legalized slavery. Imagine if a waitress had to pay for each step she took in a restaurant and the only income she was recieving was a small stipen equivalent to 3% of every table and every table had a cap of 10$ maximum spent… because everyone of these orders are single meal orders!

    Great video! I wish this was around when I was starting out! When it comes to special instructions I find that using the app to text the customer makes a huge difference. If you establish that communication with them, you can give status updates, they can give you gate codes to their building and give you more detail on the special instructions. Most importantly, by texting the customer, they are much more likely to give you a higher tip and a better dasher rating.

I only do it part time, but I still try to have a goal in mind for the week. Also, I noticed my tips are right on...bay pase is lower, just as you stated! Love the BOY merch! Plan to get either the tee or hoodie.

    I wanted to thank you for this. I use Doordash multiple times a week to places only a few miles away. I love that you mention how much the drivers get so I can consider my tip even more. I always tip at least 4.00 more for farther away places. I like that you suggest the notes. I give better directions because Dashers used to get lost, plus I have a note on my door saying please don't knock. So I don't bother my elderly mom while getting her food. Great job. This was helpful for dashers and clients as well.

    I accepted an order for Petco yesterday lol. I didn't know we deliver pet food too. There was One big bag of dog food and a smaller bag. Thankfully I had a luggage carrier in my trunk to bring it to front door. But I still had to lift that big bag to put it on their front door step. I'm never stopping at a pet store again. I didn't sign up to be lifting heavy things. You inspired me to do better today and I did. Thank you 🙏

    They may be thinking the door dash fee is the tip. Otherwise I can't see why no one would not tip. Don't they charge a delivery fee or something? That's NOT paid to the driver?

    You can’t have employees who receive no base pay… it would be even more illegal… they know that they are forcing many new employees to deliver at a rate that costs them as opposed to earning because they purposely try to influence their behavior by rating them based on accepting. This means door dash receives a base pay for no work while we hoof it for a rate that translate to us paying to work

    You are awesome and I have to deliver pizza for a long time and have been the only one working for a long time with two kids. I finally decided Door Dash is what I am going to do. Tomorrow I start door dashing for the first time and I am scared out of my mind. You are the FIRST VIDEO I HAVE WATCHED ON HOW TO START DOOR DASHING. You make me feel like I got this, so I want to say thank you. I have been only making maybe $30 max in tips a night. I have no deliveries available and almost no money available to drive to another town to do this, but I just now was notified of your live video even though I have been watching your video for almost 3 hours taking notes. The closest town I have to me is an hour and a half to me, so wish me luck friend because I need it for me and my 2 girls to make this work. Again Thank you for your positive inspirational work and NO YOUR NOT BUYING US YOUR INSPIRING US. SCREW THE ONES WHO SAY THAT, THEY ARE JUST JEALOUS.

    As a customer it sucks when drivers stack orders. I had a driver go right past house AFTER the DoorDash app said they were approaching. Then he finally delivered it about 20 minutes later. More often than not I have a terrible experience if the driver takes additional orders (stacks). Now, I don't necessarily blame this on the driver since DoorDash allows it. But I just know as a customer when I see the driver has additional stops that I'll get cold food. It's really a gamble when ordering. I would gladly pay extra in my tip if I was guaranteed a direct delivery with no stacking. I wish they allowed for this.
