Kind of a classic mistake a lot of reactors end up making. She overperforms her reactions to the point it becomes really fake. Gives off the vibe that she watched the movie once, then performed a reaction for the camera.

The glasses thing isn't that unrealistic, Henry Cavill wore a Superman shirt underneath the poster for Batman VS Superman in New York and not a single person recognized him, and that's without glasses. Also, Damian got the dog in Teen Titans Judas Contract, remember the end when Raven gave Damien a puppy, that puppy grew into this huge dog.

Doomsday's power besides strength and invulnerability is his power to evolve rapidly. That's why his bones grew and he was able to use heat vision. Every time he dies he comes back, and whatever killed him won't be able to kill him again. In the comics he was created on a primitive Krypton by a scientist who cloned a baby over and over and left it in the wilderness every night to die until the clone evolved enough to survive and became Doomsday.

The lens in his glasses are made out of the same material as his ship. They make him look different to those that look at him with them on.

What? I've never heard of that before. I know his glasses are made of his ship so it doesnt break or melt when he uses his heat vision. I've also read that Superman uses a "hypnosis beam" that he focuses through his glasses to make people see him differently, I'm pretty sure that was retconed though...but I've never heard of the glasses itself causing people to see him differently

In my personal opinion, The Death of Superman is by far one of the best DC Animated Movie Universe films they made. Even better some of the solo Batman films in the series. Sadly I won't watch any of your Young Justice Patreon reactions because I don't have Patreon.

what's amazing is they remain VERY faitful to the original story despite changing a few things to keep it in this animated continuity, and the changes don't hurt it at all.

Still need to watch Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. IMO, best animated DC movie ever.

The fact that she put this movie so low on the tier list. The disrespect. This movie made me cry. And I knew he was coming back to life!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭

the comics version is WAY MORE BRUTAL. Because superman isn't stabbed. He and Doomsday basically just punched each other so much they died, so we see superman bleeding and covered in horrible bruises while standing in the rubble of metropolis.

Fun fact, this film is the beginning of Rebecca Romijn (Mystique in X-Men 1-3) voicing Lois Lane. Her real-life husband, Jerry O’Connell, is also Superman’s VA here as well.

The reason for ths movie being not as action packed as you might have thought it would be is because this movie is supposed to be just the first part of a two part movie event. The second part is The Reign of Supermen which is the next movie.

PLus even in the original comic as with this film the fight with doomsday is only PART of the story. THe real meat of the story is exploring how important Superman is to everyone: his friends, his enemies, random people on the street, what his presence measn to the city of metropolis and the world at large...and then showing what happens when he's gone, what effect the void he leaves behind has on everyone.

I'll be honest Superman's death made me cry even though I saw the first adaption Superman Doomsday.

This is probably my favorite New 52 movie in the series

Trivia: -Luthor's Red wig and beard is homage to his "80's and 90's look when he became a king and got a new body in a story arc - Husband and wife duo Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn provide the voices for Superman/Clark Kent & Lois Lane. - Batman does not attend a daytime funeral unlike in the comic - Superboy clone in the vat is clothed in his "red/black" New 52 suit

22:50 Doomsday does not have elemental powers, it was just on fire. Doomsday's primary power is essentially Dragonball's Zenkai, but taken to the extreme along with the ability to regenerate/resurrect. That said, killing it is only temporary as it resurrects stronger than before. It was permanently killed off in at least one instance though by stranding it at the end of time.

His name is Doomsday, he's a literal killing machine that doesn't think only kills anything or anyone in his sights.

Pete was a childhood friend of superman. In the show Smallville he's there for a handful of seasons

that dog was the same puppy that Raven gave to Damian at the end of The Judas Contract

This movie very accurately shows what an absolute homicidal force of nature Doomsday was. This was an enemy Superman HAD to kill...because if he didn't, Doomsday would have killed EVERYONE

I really liked this film as Superman is my favourite comic book character and I really liked the Death of Superman original story and have a copy of the original story as a graphic novel. This film executes the death of Superman so much better than Batman v Superman (2016) did, as we have already established Superman/Clark Kent as a character and we see his struggle to save as many people as possible and to take down something as unstoppable as Doomsday, as Doomsday is literally a force of destruction and was genetically mutated to become a living killing machine with no morals whatsoever and exists only to kill, and the fact that this creature can kill Clark after so much destruction and brutalise the Justice League, only emphasises what type of threat Doomsday is.

That glasses thing actually happened to me last week. A friend of mine I made last year had ever only seen me with glasses on. So when she saw me with glasses of she didn’t recognize me for a second.

I can just imagine how you would’ve reacted had Nightwing been in this with your thirst for him. Lol

so some comics stuff: this movie is an adaptation of the 90's storyline The Death of Superman. During that period: Lex Luthor had given himself a younger, cloned body to avoid death by cancer, giving himself luscioc red hair and beard and pretending to be a good guy by convincing everyone he was his son; Superman had revealed his true identity to lois lane and they got married (Superman hooking up with Wonder Woman was something from the New 52 reboot, so them being a couple wasn't a thing at this point); Hank Henshaw was an astronaut who went to space with his wife and friends who were rescued by superman but contracted debiliating mutations that seemingly killed Henshaw and the rest of his crew and other stuff that isn't important right now. SO yeah this film is basically taking a lot of elements DIRECT from the comic, just changing some things to fit with the New 52 timeline the aniamted movies were following (hence, Superman dating Wonder Woman only to break up with her here). Other differences I'll bring up in the Reign of the Superman video.

The only thing I learned from this movie: The Justice League doesn't know how to fight as a team, they think they're in a WWE tag team or something. Best way to win: Don't go all on offense, some superpowers are better for support. Flash could've saved everyone from being hit while the rest of them did their thing at the same time. Like Guardians of the Globe in Invincible, (SPOILERS) except their speedster was stupid enough to go on offense and get himself killed, which doomed the rest of the team
