His comic is the beginning of every superhero, every comic to be born. He is the reason of what we have today and it was to help the Great Depression I think and it did and still is today. Superman is the birth of what we love not just in these stories but in real life.

@@KillaD69is this Alan Moore’s alt? This story is far more brilliant than anything Moore has written besides The Killing Joke which is funny since that’s actually an optimistic and hopeful outlook. It showed how sad and pitiful the message of Watchmen was. Moore thought Manhattan was the hero btw. That’s how delusional he was. And this showed why that universe failed.

This was one big experiment for Dr. Manhattan and it ended up creating a whole metaverse based on Superman he is on a whole different level.

As of now after the death metal story their histories from their previous stories like pre crisis is tied into the restored earth 0 so it’s not the center of the multiverse as it was when it was prime earth

Kinda cool to see that Dr.M was the reason for the DCEU altering time lol. I'm assuming Clark's dad telling him that the world isnt ready was a reference to Man of Steel

This was good writing. Superman, though being non human, embodies humanities highest ideals. He is hope. And when things are at their darkest; someone, somewhere will pick up pen and inks to once again tell that story of hope that we so desperately need. Throughout the generations we have our own mythology centered around our best hopes for ourselves, personified in the Man of Steel.

Dr Manhattan is THE one. I was impressed by this whole arc and how Manhattan disassembled the lantern ring. He stopped and explains how magic works. Like Marionette and The Mime. It would be cool if they had a run in with the joker. They had almost every hero and villain in this story too…I almost expected V.

I love how Doomsday Clock is a Story that interprets how Manhattan was reading the DC universe and making adjustments as if he was a comic book writer/reader re-writing its history…. As he tried to re-write the metaverse, it as a collective unconscious was fighting back & utilized Superman as its biggest weapon to stop manhattan. Not with fists, but with the compassion to understand and help resolve Manhattans existential crisis

I want to believe that this could turn into a three part movie. This is amazing.

so dr. manhattan was from the dark and pessimistic watchmen universe and in order to save his universe, ozy manipulates circumstances where dr manhattan can see superman in all his glory and become inspired. filled with hope, he raises a kid and transfers his being into him with hopes that he will one day become the superman of his universe and change the dark narrative that the watchmen is known for. thats some inspiring writing that finds another way to state the importance of hope.

The joker bringing batman in a wheelchair everywhere he goes was amazing 😂

Sat through this is one go, no regrets it was a great arc and the narration was 10/10 as always.

This comic Was dc comics on a high note, before the fall into mediocraty and worse that the company now is in

EXPLANATION: Superman the the ultimate catalyst. So he arrives on Earth like he always does and that affects the present. But to fix the present, you need to go into the past. By moving the Lantern and getting rid of Green Lantern (Alan Scott), the world never had the Justice Society of America in WW2 and never got the early exposure to heroes and super powered being that they desperately needed. This is why the world is freaking out now with the "Superman Theory" and metahumans race. Manhattan also acknowledges alternate continuities and that Flash and his Speed Force plays a great role in the multiverse. Of course, fixing the past and present also fixed the future, which allows for the creation of Saturn Girl and the Legion of Superheroes. All these events fix the situation of Johnny Thunder and Saturn Girl in the present (which both are currently in). Now that Manhattan fixed time, they are currently part of the main DC continuity and have history with Superman, allowing him to help them. Due to the Justice League of Society, people aren't afraid of superheroes and they are inspired by them. This causes the Kents to allows Clark to embrace who he is. Since they allow Clark to be a hero at such a young age, he prevents their car crash (just like the Pre New 52), becomes Superboy, meets the Legion of Superheroes, and etc.

When I read the series, I got goosebumps the moment the "Secret Crisis" was mentioned. Superman vs. Thor!? That's not the kicker; Plus a green behemoth even stronger than Doomsday!!?? Hulk!! I don't like the end from what Dr. M. says happens to Hulk, but if this holds true, he'll be a hero more so then... I love how you take stories I love & convert them to this format. 👍👌🙌💓

One of the best stories iv ever seen. i hope the DC movies get to this.

I think this is the best course correction DC has ever had the best way to understand why some things stay the same even when presented differently and vise versa

"You ate my breakfast" has got to be one of the greatest lines in any story, ever.

What everyone thought: “Dr Manhattan is gonna smack the crap out of Superman!” What we got: “ Superman’s ideals just bodied Dr. Manhattan’s ideals!” This is the closest to an anime fight we’ll ever get.

It's more of a cynical take on the Charlton comic characters. Rorschach is The Question/Mr. A, Dr. Manhattan is Captain Atom and Nightowl is Blue Beetle

Not at all. A story doesn't need a big fight to be good. Superman did what he always does. He inspired someone to be their best possible self. He woke up the long dormant spark of Jon Osterman in Dr. Manhattan, he inspired him to break free of his strings and take his destiny into his own hands again. Jon willingly gave up his life to prevent a nuclear war, save his Earth and give it a hero that will inspire others in ways he never could.

Oh dude i loved the narration it was such a change from Dark Knights: Metal. i loved it’s reminiscent complimenting of the original watchmen and its messages and how they carried over to this story of Jon finding hope

Probably not. DC has been firing people left and right throughout 2021. Either ATT or Discovery might end up closing them within the next 5 to 10 years. G5 is ended up becoming the recent Future State though.

Once thing doctor manhattan was not expecting from the man of steel to inspire him, he thought that he would be ended by superman by his fist, but it was the ideal of superman that ended him, what superman stands for an what he inspires in others an the compassion is what change a cosmic being who for better or worst, was dealt such a bad card in his world.

This.. is.. probably top 5.. Greatest comic books ever written!!

i loved doomsday clock it was a great but my god it took forever to come out and not to mentioned you can tell it was sabotage and edited to hell thanks dan didio and his bullshit, but despite that setback the story as a whole is fantastic and badass.
