So, apparently Doomguy is something like a Highlander. Not quite a god, but neither a human. That, combines it with Sentinels skill that he acquires and his long life experience in battling hell itself, makes him the perfect "Slayer". No. Heaven in this case is another dimension called Urdak. Beings that like to play as angelic beings live there - taking advantage of species in other dimensions to gain energy and resources. They allied with Hell to more effectively process souls into energy. This energy is then sent to Urdak.

It's a pretty common idea amongst the anti-religious that concepts of divinity, holiness, righteousness, etc... are simply things used by religious leaders to gain power over and wealth from the common people. The idea is that religion is hypocritical and not the divine path to light that it claims to be, but merely a tool to gain power. So, in the same way that religion is not divine as it appears to be, neither are angels divine as they appear to be. The angels here represent the falsity of divinity. No matter that there is technology and not "magic" attached to the rituals that grant them their "divine" powers, these ARE angels. Self-righteous, hypocritical, power hungry beings just like the mortals of other worlds who follow them.

What I've learnt from reading the doom eternal codex entries and this comment section is that the doom story is super unclear lol

To be fair the original doom 2 story was. Demons invaded earth and killed your rabbit. Time for bitches to die. Honestly that hasn't changed much I think that's the joke. Theres a super complicated nuclear story going on and doom guy is like fuck this I'm killing them all.

I'm more convinced that Hayden is the Seraphim considering he sounds like he's been in Urdak before with the "Magnificent isn't it?" comment!

I love how this whole plot addresses one of the biggest paradoxes in religion: if God and the Devil are enemies, why are they so often working together to enforce God's idea of justice? I can just imagine the conversations in the board room that led up to this story.

In Doom the Father who is basically God kinda peaced the fuck out so now Maykrs (angels) who need Father to go trough their rebirth process have made a deal where they let Hell have certain planets and as the populations souls get used to power Hell the Argent energy that is created as a byproduct gets siphoned up to Urdak to keep the whole place on life support

So this is where my father's been chilling? Heaven? Nope,gotta ask Jesus.

For those who don’t know, the “Mysterious Voice” that yelled, “No” after the Kahn Maykr’s death is the Dark Lord of Hell. Not some scrub demon. It was the main man and ruler of Hell itself.

The Dark Lord hates 3 things above everything else: Samur, Khan Maykr and the Father. The Father stole his power and sealed him in Jekkad, which infuriatesd him enough to create Hell out of his former Paradise. Samur begged the Father to kill Davoth, so he considers him a worse traitor than the father himself. The Khan Maykr was a powerful warrior who probably fought against the Jekkadins during the holy wars. The only one Davoth would mourn is the Father that he probably considers a son of sorts. But besides him, I can't see him crying the Death of the Khan Maykr, I think the one mourning her w was probably the Father himself (VEGA) unconsciously or the Hivemind of Maykrs.

When i first came to Urdak,i just stopped for a few minutes to admire it,the architecture,the empty yet beautiful space around,the OST...

Is this what future religion does? Awesome

this game reminds me of Halo and Gears of War a little just with the sheer amount of bad ass moments. Like Chief going through the portal on High Charity. The art design in this game reminds me of Gears. I wonder if any of the devs from this game worked on this

Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal definitely reminds me a lot of Halo! Especially the multiplayer from Doom 2016 had so much Halo vibes!

I’m just saying with how many people come and go in these companies, there is a possibility a former Bungie/Epic Games employee could have landed a job at Id software and influenced the development of this game. Most of Bungie left after Halo 3. It’s not even the same company, they scattered

Furthermore, she looks like Zeruel and has similiar powers.

So the angel looks like that because of the energy same as how the priests do since we saw their humanoid forms, which begs to question how the angel would actually look when not corrupted

@حج Forgive the fedora tippers, they don't understand that God is by definition the most powerful being in existence, ontologically speaking. So if Doomslayer were able to 'kill' 'God', then doomslayer is ACTUALLY God because he's more powerful, but if another being is more powerful than he is, then that is now God, and so on until you get to the most powerful and apex being, which is, by definition, God

What I've learned from Doom guy so far: 1. All Demons, Devils, Angels and even someone they call "God" are ALL aliens that are kinda dumb for trying to mess with the REAL GOD of the humans - DOOM Slayer 2. There is ALWAYS a WAY 3. Khan Maykr: "You cannot stop the procession" Doom Slayer: (see that all UNO Reverse Cards fell out of his shotgun) "Well, that's your opinion.....let's see, ah ! A dagger !" Khan Maykr: "No, we won't be able to control it !" Doom Slayer: "I don't give a Fuck, I'll kill it anyway. Because I AM THE BFG."
