He’s OP since he can regularly observe/travel through time and space, has armor that’s just as tough, if not more so, and has magic abilities that rival Strange. How can you fight a guy like at his 100%? I mean there’s cosmic beings, gods, Eternals, Celestials but he’s got a good record fighting against things like that. When he goes all out and brings out his big guns and tech he’s almost invulnerable. I think he even had some kinda tech/magic that let him become intangible and imperceptible, while still letting him hurt others. That right there’s a game ender!

No one in Marvel cares about hierarchy anymore, Mephisto used to bow to no one, he even fought Galactus when he came into his realm to a standstill, and Galactus is the brother of Eternity and Death and is on the same level of cosmic hierarchy as them. So no, it's actually downplaying Mephisto, he went from being one of the top dogs of Marvel mystical world to getting clapped by the guys like Black Panther and Doom and being more of a trickster than a powerful demon

But when Thanos snapped half of the people out of existence, what did that that do to the souls? Not sure if Thanos just killed them when he did that, or they were actually wiped out totally, so there'd be no soul for Death to collect. Don't think Death would care for that actually if it were the case.

Agreed, I love Doom. And Doom COULD (eventually) beat him. But a base Doom with no preparation, no gadgets, nothing? Nah. Dune lost for ages to mephisto... no way would he just waltz into hell and stomp him.

Mephisto was mocking Doom when he called him a god, and generally wasn’t taking any of it seriously. It was Death who humbled Mephisto, not Doom.

Hmm, odd since Mephisto is supposed to be virtually omnipotent in his own realm. He should have had no problem subjugating Doom...outside of Mistress Death interceding. She's a cosmic constant after all, one of the pillars of existence.

3:37 oh heck yeah! Never thought i’d see mephisto’s lizard form again its so cool! Always made more sense to me why black heart had hair like that too pfft! Honestly a fight like this should disappoint me. What with a lord of hell in his own realm and an arch scientific sorcerer scrapping in a sea of skulls like vagrant beasts. Yet I’m only pleased to see it. Feels more like a battle of wills. Like they’re putting more stake into their bravado and words than fighting itself.

Doom is his own worst enemy, due to his arrogance and hubris. Is he an awesome villain of course, and can be the hero as well. Even if it at times it's begrudgingly. But all in all, I still think his arrogance is his perpetual undoing.

I like how this Dr.Doom is like almost relatable to the spawn comic series, almost similar views. Both spawn and doom were gods, both ended up in hell, both lost a lover to the devil and both uses magic. 🙏🏽😁

Sure, when Doom or Richards or Stark pull some shit like this, it makes sense. But if Batman does it, it plot armor. Lolololol.

This Doom series was disappointing but this issue was pretty fucking cool. Still wish we could have kept the Infamous Iron Man character work going for awhile and really explored that more

I do like Dr. Doom's complexity. He is a supervillain, but can be written with enough depth to be as superheroic at times. Even when he became a despot, he began his career by overthrowing a worse dictatorship and used his power to help his chosen people. It's true his ambitions endanger people as often as they help, but it's nice to know the writers allow him to be human when they get him right. Very well rounded. I do agree this fight was unbalanced. If Dr. Doom is going to overpower Mephisto like this, it should be from turning the tables on a mind game or trick where the devil has stacked the deck, proving Doom's intelligence by taking the game from him.

Doom is my favorite western comics character hands down. Even own the mask and cowl. When the heroes can't get their shit together there is salvation in only Doom.

Doom scales to anyone. He's one of the most brilliant minds in Marvel, one of the most powerful sorcerers, an unparalleled roboticist, and he can combine technology and magic leagues above anyone else. I highly suggest a reading of Doom War.

Judging by the comments, Mephisto wasn’t actually losing because he wasn’t actually trying to win - he was playfully testing Doom’s will knowing it’s among the highest in existence. He was having fun, although I don’t know if he knew Death would intervene or not, though I assume he probably did if he is omniscient in his own realm. It would make sense that Mephisto knew Death was coming so he wanted to have fun and get a front row seat to Doom’s impressiveness before the show ended.

Lindsay is just awesome. I feel like Doom potentially becoming Death's greatest servant might be due to Thanos being killed off in the MCU and potentially setting up Doom as kind of a replacement insofar as his position so it provides potential source material foe the MCU if necessary.

Save humanity from themselves essentially. Under doctor dooms rule, he could end the worlds strife and suffering within the future bast foresaw. As for this? As other have pointed out Base doom probably shouldn’t be able to do this stuff on a whim but Even then he’s got crazy magic amps that might make a sorcerer supreme blush.

Could someone clear this up for me, though I suspect the answer is 'it varies' Is doom inherently evil? Or just an ego fueled jealous tyrant who wants to prove himself better than reed? We know he does care deeply for his country of latveria. But then we see plans of destruction and domination. What does doom truly want?

In the Marvel-verse, abstract entities like Lady Death are near the top. As an entity becomes less abstract and develops more diverse motivations, it generally falls down the tier structure.
