I'm figuring out way to make it faster.. although it enters cheese territory. It's either lock-on rockets as the unreliable way that expands regular ammo (sometimes his AI can handle it, other times the AI blocks only the first volley, then leaves itself open to further volley until death), or tossing a grenade near him to make him dodge just before shooting the BFG as the expensive way that is an instant kill

I feel sad for the Maraurders in this gameplay. Everyone hates him because he actually poses somewhat of a real threat as in he otherwise requires your full attention to not get hit by them but you... you just humiliated them.

They still should be removed as they are irritating as crap and near impossible for normal players if you don't read up how to do it first. Other big characters can be killed a lot of ways, some ways are much quicker but you still have options. This is a stupid "have to be at the right distance and then shoot right as his eyes flash, do weapons switch shoot again, rinse and repeat". That is the only way. Nothing else works and you have to put your full attention on him. If you have any other enemies or don't have the ammo & health going in (again for normal player) you are going to die a lot.

Imagine being the demons: - smaller demons suddenly died out of nowhere - the lucky smaller demon can shoot once or twice but still died from unknown cost - the bigger demons are the only one that can react long enough to fight back, but with their machinery weapon suddenly destroyed - the unluckiest smaller demons had only split second to realised that their body being tear apart by chain saw ....... Yeah i dont want to become a demon in this universe.

@SatanIsMyMommy I don't think the marauder is too hard. Once I realised I could swap from my ballista to the super shotgun for a second free hit, that marauder encounter was easy peasy. That encounter with the snakes and mancubus absolutely was total bullshit though.

@SatanIsMyMommy Imo keeping him mid range is not the key to success. The margin between "shotgun range," and "axe throwing range," is razor thin. I find it almost impossible to predict where the sweet spot is. Now, the marauders super shotgun blast is a threat, and you cannot dodge or block it. The axe throw, however, is barely a threat at all, it moves quite slow and you can easily dodge it. Following an axe throw, the marauder, 9 times out of 10, will charge at you for a melee attack, allowing you to get a shot at him. With this in mind, you should worry less about finding the razor thin "mid-range," sweet spot, and focus more on: 1. Getting a good distance between yourself and the marauder, more rather than less, as the super shotgun blast should be avoided at all costs 2. Dodge his axe throw 3. Take your shot when he charges you Repeat this process until he's dead. Extra tips: If you get TOO far away, he might throw 2 or 3 axes before charging you. These are still easy to dodge, just be aware. You should clear all other enemies from the room before tackling the marauder. The game will spawn in 1 or 2 zombies/fodder demons as long as the marauder lives, this is only so you don't run out of ammo, but make sure that all other demons are dead before engaging. The ballista is the best weapon to use against the marauder. Kills him in 5 or so shots on UV. You can get a second shot at him while he staggers if you quickly switch to the SSG after a direct hit from the ballista. Using this "double shot," technique, you can dispose of him embarrassingly fast.

This was my first time watching DraQu and I gotta say, this man inspired me to challenge myself in any game, I got great respect for this guy. Keep on rippin and tearin my guy

I just used this a guide for my run, 3 days of resetting and I finally got it today, ulitzing the heavy canon for the breaking demon parts trivializes them during the early levels, and the balista-heavycanonsnipe-rocket is a good weapon swap combo for sniping during laters levels. Cheers man never could have finished ultra nightmare without this video.

That first marauder kill literally made me say “woooooooooow”

btw on the 1:39:20 boss fight, an imp spawned half in the ground for me. when I glory killed it, I went through the ground and the 2nd phase battle field is below. I found the trigger down there, and skipped a cycle. Might be useful if you see an imp in the ground

To be fair, he started skipping bits of content here and there before being a third in and the various cutscenes already make a big chunk of time. Also @Hugo, you're the idiot talking about this being a "speedrun".

You and Byte Me are my favorite DooM players. I've been watching this run in segments and so far it has been an absolute thrill. That constant bottle opener pop from all the headshots is a pleasure to the ears.

Draqu way better imo. More precision and doesn't give that depressed vibe.

Have watched this at least a half a dozen times since the first time I found it a couple years ago. A work of art.

Brilliant play through! I’ve got three little ones and not a lot of time to play or even watch videos, but I watched every minute of this one. So much fun! And damn you’re good. It took me ages to beat this game.

You are. As long as you have fun with doom you are badass end of story. This stuff is just for people with lots of memory of spawns and reflexes. This kind of thing also takes alot of practice.

I was a little surprised that ultra violence wasn't so hard as I thought it was gonna be. I'm just glad I didn't choose any easier modes.

@@Obomber actually there ain't much of difference. Just damage. You can still die on the easier modes if ya get cocky and cornered

This makes my Doomguy look like a geriatric with brittle bones...

In all honesty, watching you has given me plenty of insight in to ways I could play the game better

I have considerably underestimated the Heavy Cannon. I thought it was only good for blasting weak points.

The SSG, Balista, and Heavy Cannon are your best friends on higher difficulties. Their raw damage is crazy.

I have always used the Heavy Cannon it is super good for fodder enemies and weakpoints. SSG, Ballista, and HC. But tbh all the weapons have their purposes. Use all of them for the appropriate enemies. Like using rocket launcher lock-on on the Whiplashes.

This is basically how i think Im playing except i guess there's more wind in my games cause i miss most of these shots.

Technically there are no Cyberdemons in Doom Eternal. That creature is a demon called the Tyrant which is based on the classic design of the Cyberdemon.

@@PrideBornAmadi Technically doesn't mean it's true. It's their game, and they decide the names of the demons. So regardless if it's based on a tyrant, it's still a cyber demon, because that's what the devs named it.

The combat is so fluid. It just feels right. And is very engrossing.

Bloody hell. I thought I was good at Doom and I almost had a stroke when I saw you up against the marauder. Humble request - please share your keybinds! Would help a lot in my quest for the gold skin. The makers of doom must be proud. That last level really set the standard for how doom is meant to be played. Fantastic game, amazing gameplay, and even more awesome playthrough. You absolute madlad :)

The legendary DraQu is back... I thought he retired. I also thought that you cannot speedrun this game, and you proved me wrong. You've got such a legendary memory to be able to memorize the spawn locations of all of these demons before they actually do spawn. Keep up the legendary excellent work man.
