Widely believed is it that he said it and couldn't say much else because his mental state was terrible due to him being horribly traumatised by the events that happened to him over the classic games, and it then was adopted as a chant in support of him as a gladiator and then a battlecry after he became a warrior, because it was pretty much the only thing he could say.

ah yes my favorite genre of music "violence", the final part with the singing Rip and Tear really rumbles in the chest

While The only thing they fear is you is the most known/most popular, my personal favourite of the franchise is "meathook". Would be awesome if you checked that one out as well!

There are good remixes of Mick's work for Doom 2016 too. I personally recommend SLAD3's remix of Skullhacker. It just gets more and more intense near the end and it cuts off. Gives you terror chills and excitement chills.
