I loved David Levy's TAG music from the start, but lately it's somehow grown on me even more. I also feel like my old mixes hadn't really done them justice, so I decided to remake them.
My old mixes of "Trial of Maligog" and "Immora" bothered me the most, because they used the main hooks of either song only once, and pretty early on at that, leaving the latter half of either track feeling like several minutes of buildup with no payoff. So I decided to start over and build my new mixes around the main hooks.
In the music files, the main hooks for "Trial of Maligog" and "Immora" are combined with some other music sections, so I decided to trim those other music sections and isolate the main hooks; that way I could use them more frequently in the new mixes. That's something I haven't heard anyone else do in any other mix of either track that I've found.
In my previous Doom Eternal mixes I mainly focused on combat music, but a not-insignificant portion of David's contributions to Doom Eternal were for non-gameplay sections such as cinematics, so I decided to expand the scope of this video to include some of those too.
The music files for "Trial of Maligog" are mixed noticeably quieter than most of the other tracks, so I lowered the volume levels of all the other tracks in an effort to make it less noticeable.
