Had to search long and hard to find something about Susan. Thought about her crib scene that I could never forget. How I loved you and your character, Denise Alexander. Me, now 79, still your fan.

I liked Denise Alexander as Leslie Webber on GH but i had only heard of her time on my favorite soap DOOL. Would be very interesting to see her & Julie at it again 55 years later.

Tom did a lot of meddling here, to the detriment of everyone involved. David later accidentally caused the baby's death, and Susan snapped and killed David in revenge.

How is he meddling? Making her face the truth that there was an actual life inside her and to abort it would be wrong? I see that as a positive thing.

Really think the writers missed something by not taking the opportunity to make John the baby in this story instead of giving him a random backstory that saw him as the son of Jigsaw. John would actually get more family from that because Julie's son David would have been his half-brother and Eli would have been his nephew.

Oh my God. I love your story. LOL. Some suggested Dr. Carly Manning would have been good since Hope, Julie’s sister-daughter, was involved with Bo. The close age of the actors would be weird but maybe not.

Timeline-wise, it'd be a stretch because John would technically be significantly younger than Marlena who first appeared in the show as a young adult about 10 years after this episode from 1966.

  • @Goldenrod636

@@jlhabitan50 True but the ages of characters are ALWAYS screwed around with. For example, Johnny is supposed to be 18 and not an adult filmmaker, Brady is supposed to be 32 but is played 20 years older by Eric Martsolf, EJ is supposed to be 27 but is in his early 40s, Tate is supposed to be 7 but now is 16, Holly is supposed to be 8 but is now 17 and Ciara is supposed to be 17 but is now an adult with two kids. I am pretty sure that aging John up and saying that he was born a decade EARLY wouldn't be much of a problem.

@@Goldenrod636 It's one of things I sometimes dislike about soaps, where out of convenience, they age up characters, especially when a whole generation of kids are aged up after only a few years. Abby should have been older than EJ and Philip but now is the one younger than them. Her brother JJ had Ciara sit on her lap during a Thanksgiving episode before she was aged up 2 months later, and they were both from the same generation who were born in the 2000's. And of course, Stephanie stayed being in her late 20's-early 30's for a decade and a half.

Good for Dr. Horton! To make her realize that there is a life growing inside her and to destroy that would be wrong! Even back then, before ultra sound and body camera photos, people knew that it was a baby. Funny how warped and backward we have it now.
