Doodlebugging from Conwy beach

Спорт

My first doodlebug flights at home in North Wales after completing my powered hang gliding training at Airways Airsports, Derbyshire. Many thanks to Pete Jones for coming along and for all the help/advice.
Steve.

Hello Steeve, I'm flying now with the doodlebug since 23 /10 / 2021 and very happy with this confortable microlight.

Wow, awesome landings, how long had you been flying before learning power? Just had my first bug flights this week, it's been a good time for new 'buggers with another new pilot this week too. That looks like a great place to fly from, it's all power lines 'n trees down south. Thanks for the video.

@sampling247 Thanks for the comments! Sitting back in the bug is very comfortable for easy going flying, which was my initial goal. Pete's kind of flying often requires him to sustain high speeds which is much easier to do in a prone unit. Control-wise the bug is a joy to fly, but if you want to fly with high speed and do Pete styley aerobatic shenanigans then prone is best. I've not had a go yet on a prone unit, maybe when Pete's not looking I'll take his for a spin! Cheers,Steve

@arenalife Many thanks for the comments. The strong sea breeze helped with the landings - its often backside and knees in lighter winds! I'm new to flying and have gone straight to power having done a CP (power) rating course at Airways. The beach site is excellent for early flights - loads of clear space in case of any problems, but I'll be picking sand out of my bug for a while! Good luck with the 'bugging and it'd be great to all meet up for a formation flight at some point. Cheers, Steve
