Visit www.doodle4google.com for more info.
Welcome to Doodle 4 Google, a contest where we invite students in the United States to use their artistic talents to think big and redesign Google's homepage logo for millions to see. This year we ask students to exercise their creative imaginations around the theme, "If I could travel in time, I'd visit..." One lucky student artist will see their artwork appear on the Google homepage and take home some cool prizes--and as a special bonus, the winning artwork will appear on a limited edition of Crayola's iconic 64 box!

Doodle 4 Google has competitions in many different countries; New Zealand and Australia have already held their respective contests. This is just the video for the one in the US.
II was a fool to keep my hopes up. I was immediately disappointed when I heard : "You must be a U.S. Citizen . . ."
EVERYBODY this contest is held in 17 countries around the world so i don't know why everyones complaining about. US only
I wonder how many parents will finally help their kids with their homework assignment?
They should make that contest globally cause is not fair for other people in other countries.
You should do this kind of contests all arround the world! I live in Ecuador and I was very excited to spread the news here, untill I saw that is only for US. Next time?
Why isn't this open to college students as well?? Just because we are already in college doesn't mean it stopped costing money! And college students in this field need stuff like this to put on their resume...come on Google think about stuff like this!
Legal Resident still can join to this contest. "Do you have to be a U.S. citizen to participate? At the time of submitting the doodle, the student must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent U.S. legal resident (e.g., must be able to show proof of legal permanent residence, for example, a “green card”), be enrolled in a U.S. based school and be living in the U.S."
Nice idea. Kids, take your chance!
Hey GOOGLE... Canadians want a shot too!
i guess its only for one country because to make it easier, there would be no mess of too much and take forever to choose
Only for kids in school? IN AMERICA? That does it... I'll never us the Internet again!
Reiterating what other said: WHY ONLY USA? Google if I recall is a global company! And many school and children would love to participate... and win a prize. I thought that Google was a FORCE FOR GOOD
What am I waiting for ? I`m waiting to become an US citizen.
okay, lets just give me the prize and any additional spoils of war already-'good productive comment achieved'
OH GOD I GOTTA DO THIS! IM GONNA TURN 12 THIS YER
A Google competition for Americans , I guess it's goodbye for the equal opportunity Google
The only problem is 96% OF PEOPLE ARE NOT FROM THE US. WHO OPENS A CONTEST FOR ONLY 4% of the earth :(
I entered the contest and my drawing is titled "Adventures of the Earliest Explorers". I hope that I make the top 250 at least. I actually made the top 400 last year.
:o I think im gunna enter this time... last time i forgot to turn in my template D:
someone do this and make sure their's a tardis somewhere
Damn... I'm not a US resident... you lose google, not me
DAMNIT GOING GOOD TIL IT SAID 'You have to be a US citizen'!!
wtf google...the earth is not only USA! I mean 84% of the famous painters were from OUTSIDE US
@Raajur Listen quietly. Because that makes sense.
I love Google.
So proud of myself because I can understand this even not being a native english spearker.
1:17 Makes you think that someone has already tried this.

I wanna take part in this but i'm not sure if i can cause i'm a us citizen but i'm only part of the us. the usvi is only a territory
unfortunately im not a US resident which means=i could not submit my entry to the contest :|
i'm sad....but still i love google
c'mon only usa ?! there's A LOT of talent in the rest of the world too :/
@AkHolic69 you assume everything...Google has allowed to use computer softwares to create doodles. Then there is no problem in keeping the competition online...
Google, pls, think internationally. The world is not USA only.
I drew for more than 12 hours straight to finish mine... Procrastination is great! xD
Cool I want to do this!
"Only USA" well there elemenates half of the contestants!!,
@BlazeChance1 Awwwh
For millions to enjoy? Not if Sopa or Pipa get passed
@JoeyLovieLiv There's also a Doodle4Google competition for other countries too. ;)
@MaikBey You have your ' I hate Joodle' contest in Germany.
If you don't understand why it's for US Citizens only, then don't comment. God forbid a US company does a contest for US citizens. You all make it seem like the US owes the rest of the world something, but you're so quick to exclude it from practically everything.
@argentinakeeper10 Had college students been able to enter, it would not be fair for students of a younger age especially if Art students enter. They'd already be way ahead of any high school or middle school student.
I hope we get the box of crayons...
@JoyLovieLiv lol guy if you doesnt know google was made in usa but is an international company and have buildings trought the world not only in america
I'm creating one to enter. It seams very fun. Where doing it in my art an tech class -:D an I'm a basss
This is literally my dream but ive only learned about it today T^T no ideas too...
postponed to April 10th, sopa passed
@BlazeChance1 maybe you haven't been to Google dot com and clicked on the black sign?
To Chicago To San Francisco Which Where I Think There located At It Will Take More Than Ten Days To Get There
why only the US?
Why people from Argentina and others countries cannot participate too? :( (I said Argentina because that's where I'm from, not because I don't want the others to participate)
awww shucks! i missed it!
I'm in Canada!!!!!!!
@jujubasu what is your country's name??
Blackout Doodle!
@MaikBey which part of the us is world wide?
Oh, Google will not be eligible to share this on its homepage, since that stupid SOPA will prevent showing you the image a kid has drawn.
Not again.. We are all citizens of the World. What's the difference between me and an American/African/Asian/Oceanian citizen? We are all children of the same Mother.
@BlazeChance1 Yes.
Im sorry google, "google" is copyrighted, now you have to come with me.
come on, canadas creative too! dont leave us out! what happened to google.CA
OWWW, i don't live in USA its not fair.... DAMN IT!
why no Canada?
Can you make more than one
My react: JUBIIII! I WILL DO THAT RIGHT NOW! 1:11 FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
IMPORTANT! Here is how everyone from all over the world can participate: # 1. Get to Palms Springs # 2. Find a nice American chick during spring break (* if she is already drunk, jump to # 4) # 3. Get her drunk (make sure she is drunk enough to pass # 6, depending on how you look) # 4. Fly to Las Vegas # 5. Make sure she is still drunk # 6. Marry her # 7. Adopt a student or someone who is about that age # 8. Doodle! # 9. If you lose, just enjoy your new life as a poor idiot :)
which part of the USA is Germany?
only US :( Google and Amazon offers amazing services only to US :(
Why only USA?
thousands of dollars for a piece of drawing....
Well there is plenty of kids in Europe who could get a nice doodle for Google. Doesn't Google have a major office abroad in Zürich?!
why only US???
what is SOPA?
@910MISSPERFECT do u have to pay to enter
what if I don't live in the U.S.
What I am waiting for.... Well, I am not US citizen.. :/
@TheSharkElite A company based in the US...
i hope i winn it will mean every thing to mi GOOGLE
DANG! I'm an Asian!
@MrPolarbeared Get the hell over it, Google is a US company, it's just easier to restrict the contest to US citizens only. Shipping, prize giveaway, contact with the winner, etc... if the winner was from Germany or some other country that doesn't speak English as their first language, and doesn't use the US dollar, then it'd pose a challenge for google to deliver the prize promptly. Life isn't fair. People outside the US are just embarrassing themselves by crying over this.
Jeez 80k of money for the kid....
@Mrspidy3 yes....ure correct.....i wanna join..!!!
aw... only USA!!!
Lmao 1:13 awww poor Dad ...
wth?!?!americans only??best doodlers are not found in the US!!
what's the name of the music?
My entry didn t make it. : (
It's only for seperate countries because of all the people joining. Think about it: translating, all those papers. Which country is going to grade them? And, it's only seperate countries or else its one paper out of THE WHOLE WORLD. Thats like three trillion, more or less, its not like only three people are competing.( Plus some phscomaniac might get mad 'cause he didn't win and he might come after you or try and kill you.0.0)
